I see McGee has learned to keep his mouth shut.

It is nice to see him cheering on the Blazers.

McGee was arrogant and not a good fit here, but I don't blame him anymore for leaving the way he did. Pretty cool that he stopped by practice and watched the games on TV last week.

I will openly state that I got this guy's exit wrong. Agree that *maybe* he wasn't a good fit, but after what has transpired with Liar Watts, I no longer hold ill feelings over his abrupt exit. Not good for the kids at the time, but I can certainly understand why he bolted. Further, we still don't know what exactly he knew, and what he could or couldn't tell, either.

McGee leaving (regardless of whatever he says after the fact) was more because of the golden opportunity that emerged to escape the program whose condition was a beacon of his inability to coach, rather than anything regarding Watts. I'm sure there were plenty of warning signs, but I highly doubt McGee was ever discerning enough to notice.

Yeah, I don't know if McGee had an idea of what was happening, in the end it's a good thing he left, but I do feel bad for giving him so much grief about it.

I think you are wrong. He came from Arkansas where anything the football team wants, they get. I'm sure it was frustrating to not get things he needed to help the team suceed. Looking back, things like the lack of a senior banquet was made above his head. It probably started affecting his personal performance.

Clark faced the same thing, but he took a different path. Where McGee withdrew and finally left, Clark went public and tried to get things done outside of UAB channels, like going to the football foundation.

Both coaches have strong survival skills. If the administration had supported them, both could have had success here. How they handled adversity is where they differ. One left. One fought.

Agreed. Interesting how things like what has transpired in Blazer land has made me reassess many things, especially within myself and my read on situations, things, judgements, etc.

I remember being pretty happy when he left. I thought he was a jerk for doing it in the manner he did, but I was happy to see him go.
