We played a good team and lost. This team overachieved and got matched up against the highest ranked team playing in the tournament. blow outs suck but this team and this season was a success especially looking long term

And while there are times I do appreciate your input, there are many more times where you do anything to stomp on the hearts of Seahawk fans. It's like you are not happy unless you can turn our enthusiasm into misery. This, after all, is a fan board. But, it is still your right to express your views. Sea33, I've followed the Seahawks boards for many years as a lurker, but never posted. I finally started to post this year to try to support a more positive ambience for the Seahawk Nation. I respect everyone's opinion on this board and I just think it's worth considering that what you post is read not just by the regular posters, but by parents, players, potential recruits and the world. So, it's good to be civil.

I don't think 33 is being unfair at all.......

Mullet has accused a lot of us being homers over the years, so I fail to see how 33 is the problem here either. If Mullet wants to get all pissed off and tell people to "kiss his ass" when we attack him for his negativity, maybe lightening up is the answer rather than expecting the rest of us to become more "realistic".

We all want the basketball program to lead the charge and be everything we want it to be, so frustration over bad losses is to be expected. But with that frustration needs to also be a sense of pride in what we DID accomplish and a recognition that being pissed off over a loss is far better than being apathetic. When losses cause some measure of pain you know you had a quality season.

A school is more than just a basketball team. A lot of us alums called this place, literally, our home for several years when we lived on campus. So naturally we don't like it when people have excessive negativity regarding anything related to UNCW because its an attack on our collective identity. I also hate when people who went to school here prefer to root for other schools in the state for that reason as well, but that's another topic entirely.

And yeah, I'll admit, I'm a homer like 33. Because I devoted tuition dollars and student fees to this school and still continue to be a part of the entire athletic program after graduating. I'm damn proud of the two degrees I earned in my 4 years here as well as the successes of our sports programs.

All that being said Mullet does add something to the community so I'd prefer to see him stick around.

So everyone is clear, the part of the post I was congratulating Osprey for was just the overall mentality of keeping things at the PG-13 level around here for anyone that reads/visits our board, especially recruits and their families.

I think Osprey was just answering 33's attempt to reach out to us fellow Hawk fans for thoughts on the outbursts.

Additionally, being a homer myself as well as a recipient of a post from Mullet a couple months ago telling me to grow some thicker skin, I was a little surprised by his outburst. However, he's been swimming around these waters for quite some time and we all usually just take whatever he says with a grain of salt. That's all Bill and I were asking everyone to do.

With all of that said, I don't see a reason for this thread to continue. Let's let this die, and if anything else continues from here than the appropriate actions will be taken.

Pick it up, dust it off, shake hands, and let the game continue!
