Big whoop. teamranking has them losing. 2 point underdog
Sagarins would have them dead even, counting about 3.5 point to UL-M for the home court.
My guess is that this year's EMU team is more likely to put out a good effort in post season than last year's team.
I'm counting more on Talley and Ward than GB III and Riley.

A win would set up a potential matchup with Stony Brook and former Michigan Mr. Basketball winner Deshaun Thrower. That would be pretty neat.
I like Stony Brook. They lost a heart breaker to Albany on some ridiculous, how did it happen shot...
That have a forward, Wormley, who is a hand full.
Maybe we end up out on Long Island.
Hahaha. You guys are actually breaking this s*** down? Are you in a CBI office pool? I am literally laughing at some of these posts.

Kent, BGSU, and WMU are all in the CIT. They must not have read Bob Wickersham's "scam" post. Oops.
It must have been the 'ignore option'. (Sam, that was a fat pitch right down the middle of the plate, belt buckle high).
Seriously, I don't consider CBI and CIT 'scams'. They are tourneys without commercial sponsorship and deep pockets.
No different then a bowl game requiring teams to guarantee tickets. It's called business.
I've got this "tournament" on the ignore option. It's business because they've created a phony market where there is no demand for the crap they're selling. I gotta believe the players do not want to be in this. This really is pretty pathetic.

Looks like the game will be at 8:00 and on CBSsports.com. Per the main board.

You've made your thoughts abundantly clear. For a tournament you don't care about, and an athletic program that you've given up on supporting, you sure have posted in this thread a lot. The Keno Davis board must've been a bit slow this weekend.

I didn't realize we were 11th in the country in steals and opposing team FG%. Another banner year for our defense...now about that offensive efficiency.
I just wish Murphy cared as much about offense as he does defense. He could be a special coach.

I've given this and Toledo's refusal some thought.
UT played poorly down the stretch and seemed 'finished' and done with the season.
EMU, OTOH, got it going in March and playing the best ball of the season.
Ditto for the EMU women (they got it going in February).
I think it is simple:
IF you're playing good ball, keep playing until the last "L" of the season.
If you're (like UT) mailed it in, then why extend the agony. Hoist the white flag and get ready for spring break...

I don't understand why are you guys so against it.
It is simple - if you want to play in it then do it, if not than just don't.
For some reason EMU decided to play in it. I think playing additional games can only benefit us. If they decided against I would be fine with it too.
I just can't understand complaining about it for 15 pages.

Yep, ask the players and staff what they think and go with it.
Really, the game is for the players and their wishes. We're members of the peanut gallery....

Your not kidding. WMU is having the same debate. Uncanny how similar the rational against the CTI/CBI are on both sites.

I really fail to see the reason for debate. If the team wants to play another game, and the opportunity is there, that's great. And I don't care what some are saying here, a 21-win season with some quality wins, deserves a postseason nod. Too many people spend too much time being miserable.

+2.
This team won 4-in-a-row before losing to Toledo and wants to play.
Remember, this is a 'Sweet 16' (16 teams) tourney. Two wins and the teams are in the semis.
Get into the semis and the interest starts to build. Might be television for the finals (best of three series).

Well, the proof will be in the outcome.
In my opinion, not many young men who are college athletes like being second. They like to win and be a part of something prestigious.! There is nothing prestigious about these tournaments. That's why everyone is excited to play in the NCAA Tournament.
Just because EMU is playing in the CBI does not mean the young men actually want to be there. If they come out and play their hearts out I will say this was their decision and I will support it. If they come out with a lackluster performance it will be clear this wasn't their decision and was probably an administrative decision.
EMU would have to go very deep or win the tournament for it to really be of any benefit. Otherwise it's just one or two more useless games. Last year's CTI tournament did nothing to improve this program.
