RE: CBI Tourney
Looks like UNLV is very interested in the CBI. We'll know more later today. Cal seems interested.

Reality police: No one outside this site gives a rat's a** about the CBI Tourney and most here don't care either. I'd say there are 4-5 diehards here who care at all. It was a mediocre season, I just wish we could put it out of it's misery and back out of this silly tournament.

I myself will be enjoying the REAL tournament along with 99.9% of America...(Go UNI)!

In fairness, he does have the Reality Police on his side.

He likes to think that. I mean, the guy said he could "no longer support EMU athletics" a couple months ago, yet still posts here. The reality police would tell him that he's wasting his time lecturing everyone else.

I think you misunderstand, Sam. Only a loser would go through his life supporting EMU athletics. A winner would go on an internet message board of a program he doesn't support and incessantly try to convince the fans that they're losers.

Damn, I was hoping for EMU at UNLV (I know two chances: slim and almost none).

Won't happen.

BTW, UofM is apparently headed to the NIT. Would be nice to see them play CMU, IF Central loses tomorrow...

The BSU and Miami games get talked about the most, but we were beating Kent State by 16 before the bottom fell out. That was a disappointing loss as well.

Not making anyone feel better bringing that up.

I was at EMU when they were actually ranked in the top 25 nationally (for a short while at least). The Michigan win was not that big to me considering what I have seen. I think I take that for granted sometimes. Maybe that is why I only see the current EMU performance as "competitive" or "mediocre" rather than "good". And why newer fans consider the current performance as "good".

In a surprising development, Toledo elects not to go to a post season tourney. SMH.

Esp. as they have a number of highly productive seniors who are now officially 'fmr. college basketball players.'

Couldn't have they grabbed a CBI slot?

Look at what their seniors did tonight (47 points):

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=400784976

Will Toledo fans go crazy to watch Jordan Lauf next year? (one point tonight).

It's shocking to me that Juice Brown never got to the NCAA tournament. Such a fine career that young man had.

Will it be Alvano? Bond? Stone?

Min/G A/G T/G
Alvano 14.9 1.9 0.9
Bond 21.0 0.9 1.7

Despite not being able to score outside of free throws, Alvano has demonstrated he is the more capable point guard of the two. With Stone coming in and a glaring need at SF that Bond is capable of filling... Pretty sure Bond wont be in the PG question next year.

What is your final verdict about last years recruiting class? I think it was good with a couple Freshman guards with bright futures (Bond, Alvano), a couple JUCO(ish) players who probably could have been better utilized (Nazionne, Samuels), and a Mystery Freshman (Nobles).

Not a MAC version of the Fab Five, but pretty reasonable.

Actually I said EMU football. Back in 1995 I gave them a 20 year deadline to have a winning season.

The state of Michigan needs CMU to win! It has been a very lean year for Michigan hoops.
