And, if I was the bald Tribe fan (don't take offense, being bald is great) with hands raised to the right of Daniel, I'd have that puppy blown up to about 4 X 6 ft and hang it over my fireplace.....

I was actually sitting with the 2 jmu guys in the pic, but had to leave at the half to get back up to jersey or else my wife was going to kill me. Hate the fact that I missed such a good game.

That was the JMU section and a number of Dukes were with us for both games. Thanks for some great support!

tons of Tribe fans in the house today

Awesome pic! For those of us in it worth printing and framing!

Team deserves us "packing the farm" tonight. They believe in "one tribe one family" so it is time for alumni to kick up even more support. We had a normal home game turnout yesterday here so tonight we need to turn the arena into 4500 Tribe fans!!

First 166 students who show their student ID get court side seating behind the bucket so get there early!

Tribe fans will occupy the arena. Better than home court advantage.

You must turn in your Tribe fan card if you are within a 5-6 hour drive and you are not here tonight.

Official attendance was 5,721 and looked like about 4,500 were Tribe fans! Thanks all for the great turnout tonight the place did rock and shame on those who left early that missed out seeing our 16 point comeback at the end. Great effort to the team for not giving up!

to the 2 Tribe fans in 208 (white males, probably age 50+), row E I think... if I knew your names I would report you to the Tribe Athletic department with a request that you never be sold a ticket to a W&M sporting event again.

your expletive filled racist tirades were an embarrassment to everyone there tonight wearing green and gold to support our student athletes.

Notice the way Schalk has positioned himself [ and is blocking out] for the rebound, should that be necessary - which fortunately, it wasn't.

RE: Fan support
I have never been to a tribe game even at Kaplan where the fan support was as strong as last night. I don't think Northeastern had more than 200 fans. It was a great atmosphere but a sad result. The team still can win our first nit game ever. I agree that it was disappointing but last year was worse because we had it. Last night Northeastern shot the ball as well as they can and milked the clock to nothing on so many possessions. I loved the last effort to comeback. I always wonder both in football and basketball how teams can move and score so effortlessly in desperate times but not carry it over to more of the game. I guess the defense relaxes with the lead. Essentially, last night felt like we never had control. The Hofstra game also felt that way, but we got a memorable finish. Northeastern plays in a way where possessions much less points are hard to come by.

I was proud of the fans that I met throughout the arena. I did meet an older Tribe fan coming in who said we would lose. I felt sorry for him that he was miserable before the game started. Nearly all were the opposite last night.

We all want to be there when the Tribe finally cuts down the nets, but the CAA tournament history provided me a reminder. We won 1 or 2 tournament games in 18 years and aside from the really good team in 98, were rarely even competitive. That has definitely changed. It was worth how I feel today to support the Tribe. Thanks to all who attended the tournament and to all of you who support the Tribe from places all over the U.S..

I did hear that if you played a drinking game where you drank every time the announcers mentioned we had never made it to the NCAAT, you would have missed the whole 2nd half passed out. The good news to that is more friends will be coming to Baltimore next year so they do not have to hear it. Maybe Baltimore can be Kaplan north.

The large number of Tribe fans may have been partially due to the fact that the tournament is in Baltimore. Several alum live in and surrounding the DC/Baltimore area, perhaps more so than surrounding Williamsburg. It's easier in some ways to pack Baltimore Arena than the Kap. Of course, having a championship to play for and a chance to make history also helps....

RE: Fan support
I still can't believe the student turnout last night. There were more WM students at the game than NU fans. Which started me thinking. What if the CAA finals over the next couple of years features teams like NU and Hofstra? These two schools have just over 30k students combined. There were maybe 25 students and 500 fans (that number may be generous) between those 2 schools at the two games against us. I was at every game and no school, other than WM, had more than 15 students behind the basket (not counting pep bands and dance teams). Watching the 12 or so NU students "storm" the court last night had to be embarrassing and concerning for the conference. Could the CAA become one of those "higher seed gets the home game" conferences?

Eh...I think even if NU hosted the tournament they wouldn't have more than 1,000 people in attendance...

Yeah definitely not knocking the home support this season, it was much better then in past years and as previously stated some have done amazing things to get things rolling. I can just say that I was stunned at how strong the support was last night. Already working on trying to get the 30+ friends who were texting me the whole game(hence the lack of posts from me) to come next year to the whole tourney. Did reconnect with one of my classmates who I hadn't seen for more than 10 years.
