OT Last 4 out of NCAA #1 in NIT
CBS sports is reporting that the last 4 out of the ncaa tournament will be listed and #1 seeds in NIT. i like this and think it helps provide some connection between the 2 tournaments

RE: OT Last 4 out of NCAA #1 in NIT
Makes sense, but can a team that was not previously on the bubble rise up to that list? In other words, say William & Mary loses in the CAA Championship. In no way, shape or form have they been anywhere near the "last four" lists. But even though they already have an autobid to the NIT, could they enter consideration for an NIT 1-seed? Or will those 4 slots exclusively go to crappy Power 5 teams because they have larger gyms?

From what i read the ncaa committee will seed 69-72 and they will be given the 4 nit 1 seeds. so hypothetically if a caa #1 seed was in contention for an at large but was deeemed one of the last four out not only would they be guaranteed an nit bid but they would also be guaranteed a 1 seed

No midmajor program traditionally ever gets a home game much less a seed.

Crappy Power 5 teams typically win the NIT against other crappy Power 5 teams.

Yeah, those NIT one seeds are usually reserved for lower tier ACC or Big Ten squads if I remember correctly. I've been known to be wrong though so... Grain of salt that.
