RE: Elon game
I see what you're saying Hoops, but those useless D1 bowl games still generate a lot more revenue and viewers than a small time tournament that plays 2nd or 3rd fiddle to the NCAAT.

That's great, but I found the reasons you made that statement were cynical. Your prediction gave you a built-in method to bash Keatts later if he failed or not give him credit if he succeeded.

Maybe you've changed your story since then and support the guy fully, but around the time you made that call you had been describing him as a "High School coach".

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your (fishy) soul.

I agree entirely, that's why i stipulated not from a financial perspective, but from a postseason perspective.

I have supported UNCW over the years.I had season tickets for 22 years and I was a member of the Seahawk club for a while.Boards are full of guys who bleed for the school they pull for and I no problem with that.I could also go back and pull comments from everybody on this board and post them in a wiseass manner but its not worth the time and its a cheapshot.

I, for one, love The Mullet.

Every board needs at least one curmudgeonly fish!

Does anyone else find it distasteful to buy your way into a tournament? These pay for play tourneys are mostly considered a joke in college bball. If we can't qualify as one of the best 100 programs I say forget it.

the nit doesn't take the best 32 left. There are several barely .500 power 5 schools that get an invite. I think the NIT should consider anyone down to about 120, but the gate matters to them too.

I don't need points from a guy in your position for sure but if you win that is what counts. At this point I give him 100% credit for a job well done.Ifs are big ,but let's say he wins COY,they the tourney, win a NCAA game.Do you think he would have offers for other jobs? The guy is winning at UNCW and we know it can be done but is not easy,I think he would a very hot commodity.Don't waste your time trying to read between the lines of posts on a message boards-not worth the time.I always go with the show me theory when it comes to sports.I have been wrong plenty and in the end it all really means zero.

1. There is really no point in discussing the if/when of him leaving. If we get to the NCAA's I'm ecstatic and you can stop right there. I'll enjoy the ride just like I did in 2006, because even then I understood there is no guarantee you get back there anytime soon, regardless of who the coach is.

2. I'd prefer not to have to read between the lines of posts but you make that difficult. Pretending people don't have agendas or opinions beyond what they type is useless. If we're going to take what you write at face value, then what you're really asking is that we ignore when you contradict yourself. You've said many times we SHOULD be winning in the CAA. Yet in this same post above you also said it's difficult to win at UNCW. You've said before that you needed to believe it till you see it with Keatts and that he doesn't deseve an extension after 1 season, then say in this post above that he might bolt. You sure love having your cake and eating it too. Then when people respond to you you act like we're just a bunch of homers and you're above it all. Whatever. You post here and are part of the community. Meaning I'm going to respond when the time comes to call you on your BS.

Glad to see we're practicing a good catch and release policy around here.
