Here's the box score. Evidently the "C" in "C.J" stands for Clarence. http://beachballclassic.com/Portals/0/st.../2015b.htm

He got the start and had 13 pts (5-12 shooting, 2-6 from 3), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 turnovers and a steal in a 106-93 victory. A very efficient day for our incoming freshman.

For what its worth, Luke Maye, who also started alongside Bryce at one of the other forward slots, had 15 pts (5-12, 1-6), 12 rebounds, 1 block and a couple turnovers.

All-MECKA teams

Hough’s Luke Maye and North Meck’s C.J. Bryce were named co-players of the year.

Maye is headed to Chapel Hill...so yeah.

Don't know much aboout Bryce but the Maye kid is very, very good.
Bryce must be pretty good to get co player with Maye.Maye is a big time shooter and a pretty good all around player-looks like he could use some conditioning for the next level.

RE: Recruit Updates
CJ Bryce was shown in the Charlotte Observer Sunday as part of the All County Team. He was standing next to a 6'7" center and looked an inch shorter, at most. Bryce had some great games down the stretch of his high school career.

Another top Mecklenburg County senior was Steven Santa Ana, who played for 4A runner-up Ardery Kell High School. He is going to Elon.

RE: Recruit Updates
That shooting percentage is insane. It appears next year we will have the shooter we sorely missed this past season. Things are surely looking up.

RE: Recruit Updates
A bunch of UNCC players are leaving with the coaching change. One is Torin Dorn, who was CUSA's freshman of the year. (His dad was the UNC-CH and NFL DB.) Keshawn Woods is another freshman from NC who played well. Both are 6'5", or so.

RE: Recruit Updates
Can't they play immediately for another school if they transfer based on a coaching change? Geez, I don't think we have anymore room on our roster!

82. Of course lots of those shots were layups, is that a surprise? He also can stroke the outside shot which we sorely need. i think he has a great future here.

If he came to UNCW, it would imply (since we are out of scholarships) that somebody is leaving. And I would strongly suspect that "somebody" would be a guard. So, net, he wouldn't be 'another guard'.

But I wonder how it was that he came to end up at Middle Tennessee? He was offered by a number of high-major programs, and was considered to be one of the top 100 players in the country at one point.

RE: Recruit Updates
he Research shows he originally signed with Houston, then the coach left, so he transferred to Middle Tennesse. Also, sounds like his grades were good, but ACT/SAT scores may have kept him out of the big time recruiting schools.

Pugh or ponder are the only ones I could see leaving. With Pugh most likely.

We'll certainly be well stocked with PG's after Ponder graduates. Denzel Ingram and now Richmond provide depth behind Talley.

RE: Recruit Updates
So it looks like we're going after another transfer guard. Shannon Evans from Buffalo. Played at Hargrave in HS.

https://twitter.com/JonahJavad/status/59...7179046914

However rumor is he will follow Bobby Hurley to ASU.
