One Bid Wonders: CAA Power Rankings v9
http://www.onebidwonders.com/2015/02/17/...nkings-v9/

2. UNC-Wilmington (15-10, 10-4 in CAA)
Results: W 58-45 vs College of Charleston; W 66-61 vs Northeastern
This week: Thursday at Delaware; Saturday at Towson
The Seahawks have been playing with a chip on their shoulders and a serious mean streak all year long under first year head coach Kevin Keatts, and have been perhaps the biggest surprise of the CAA this year. Addison Spruill, a 6’5” 230 pound ball of hustle and muscle has done a bit of everything, playing the two through four positions, while guards Freddy Jackson, Craig Ponder and Jordan Talley have all exploded at different points throughout the year. Like the Tribe, UNCW does much of its damage playing four-guards and spreading the court, with athletic 6’9” Cedrick Williams and 7’1” center C.J. Gettys doing the dirty work to hold off opposing front courts.

Then beat them by 19. We also swept #2. We dominate the good teams and lose to poo-poos. SYH

What was that about "dominating the good teams"? You won close games over us and are getting beat up by NU tonight.

We're now 7-1 against the top teams. You're 5-4. Because we embarrassed you in W'burg then left you speechless in W'ton, you have only hope that some other team will do your bidding. That's fair enough but we all know W&M is the one team that scares you whereas W&M views UNCW as just another win. 6-0, remember that and pray you don't see us in B'more.

We're much better suited to win 3 straight in Baltimore, Tribal. We've been far better on D on a consistent basis, creating a lot of turnovers. We also rebound. You're lying if you said you'd want to face us a 3rd time. And of course your head to head means little if you get taken out by a low-ranked team, which you've been prone to allow to happen.

This is essentially the same team that went to the CAA Championship game last season save Rusty...Rusty was better than Sheldon but Omar and Tarpey have improved. And, I would rather face UNCW than UD for very obvious reasons. It's not coin flip probability. Beating you twice means we'd have a much better chance at winning again than, say, 50/50. That's not a stab at your program...we're simply better as evidenced by our head-to-head.

Shaver's teams excel at the CAAT having played in 3 championship games in 7 years and that was with VCU, ODU, and GMU in the conference for 2 of them.

On a side note, none of us should take Drexel, UD, CoC, TU, or HU lightly. I'm not buying JMU or Elon as a real threat.

I like the way we are playing right now. With Chuck along side Ced, our post defense and rebounding equals anyone in the CAA. We defend the 3 well, and the tops teams in the CAA depend on the 3 ball.

I also think we can handle UD tomorrow night. Won't be as close as the first game.

We caused 20 TO's in the first game and had 11 steals. UD hit 15-16 Ft's to stay in it. I don't think they can hit like that again.

I think we take it 72-64, and open up a 1 game lead on the pack.

Tomorrow night will be a close one I imagine. It'll also show just how improved we are if we can take a 3rd straight W over a tough opponent.

You are what your record says you are, so I'm not buying Tribal's argument that W&M is the better team. You won 2 close games over us, and since that 2nd win have digressed a bit (Dixon's injury isn't the only reason/excuse either), whereas we continue to show improvement. We also swept Northeastern, which to me is another nice litmus test.

We beat you both times we played you but we're not better? Okay, since beating you 100% of the time isn't good enough, what is? You act like we beat you in Dec and you've blazed through the CAA the past two months. We just beat you WITHIN THE PAST TWO WEEKS at your place in front of a packed crowd! Did that frisbee hit you in the head? Ha ha.

Guarantee you think you're better than NU because you swept them. Right or no?

Classic SN08 homer logic. Don't let facts get in the way.

Delaware beat you twice. By your logic they're better than you, right?

H2H means little when both games were close, nor will it mean a thing if/when we meet in Baltimore. Overall body of work says we're equals.

Go lick your wounds from your back to back losses then come back to taunt us during the Delaware game, eh?

While your boys did beat our boys twice, one win involved us blowing a 20 point lead and the other incinvolved us beating you in every aspect of the game except the final score. Our wins against northeastern are not comparable to your wins against us. If we get one more shot at you in Baltimore i really like our odds. The one team that makes me nervous is actually Drexel. They are the one team in the CAA that has proven they can play a better game than us for 40 straight minutes
