RE: PREVIEW: Game 25 W&M vs Delaware
Missed our chance with the first time we came within 2 and had lots of momentum. Somebody thought it a great idea to go for a highly contested 3, missed badly and suddenly we lost our mojo and basically just traded baskets.

Hopefully we can bounce back on the road this week to give ourselves a chance for the #1 seed. Delaware is very likely to be in the other half of the draw.

Exactly. Beat NU and this all goes away. It is what it is so just push it down and move forward.

Not to harp on them, but we needed at least one of the four freshman to step up today and they didn't and a couple missed open three's and key layups down the stretch.

It was nice to see Marcus be aggressive today and if we have that and the other role players doing at least a little bit, we will be just fine. We are learning valuable lessons right now and hopefully 3 weeks from now they will pay off.

Our freshmen struggled. Really missed Dixon.

Different game with Daniel in there. Win out and win the conference.

One nice thing was a solid 4,100 in attendance. That crowd got loud at times. The AD really has done a good job promoting games this year.

It's weird. Tot looks good on the court defensively, tends to be a good ball handler, and he gets open looks. He just seems afraid to shoot now for whatever reason

Out of Marcus, Tarpey, Dixon, and Prewitt, we need 3 guys to show up with good games.

With 4 of them, we can deal with one of them being off that night, but with only 3, they all have to be on. Wasn't the case today.

Wow, O Wow! I thought I was over last year's final, but this opened the wound back up. I feel bad for our guys, especially Thornton.

We looked really good coming back from 15 down to tie twice, but couldn't buy a shot to go ahead, despite several chances.

I know these guys are hurting worse than we are but wow...

RE: PREVIEW: Game 25 W&M vs Delaware
I actually think the biggest hole on the team tonight was Sheldon. Only two shots and no real inside presence. We seemed to be only working the perimeter without any significant possession in the paint. Delaware then simply pressured us on the outside and contested many of our shots, not giving us many good looks.

RE: PREVIEW: Game 25 W&M vs Delaware
How did we lose? Obviously careless defense in first half--allowed too many open threes and
open inside shots to put us 15 points in hole.

Yet...

We outrebounded them 37-34
Had 13 offensive rebounds to their 7
Had 9 steals to their 2
Hd 6 blocked shots to their 3
Had just 5 turnovers to their 13
Assists even 15-15

Hurts to lose this one. Credit to our guys for a great second half. Couple of turnovers
in final five minutes really hurt.

Can't seem to get over the hump against Delaware.

Great, great crowd support. Thought we were going to pull it out.

I wish Shaver would give Schalk the majority of the minutes over Sheldon. I just think the intensity he brings is very important. Seems like whenever he is in, good things happen for the Tribe.

RE: PREVIEW: Game 25 W&M vs Delaware
This game is on Shaver and the staff. If you watch what UD has done defensively in the last three games(CAA tourney, @UD and today), it is imperative that Tarpey and Schalk take a 15-17 footer from right behind the charity stripe. It is one of the easier shots in the game. There is no room in the post for any backdoor layups with a Delaware player sitting in the middle of the lane playing off Tarpey. Tarpey has to make this shot which will open up the floor for the offense to be effective. However, Shaver HAS to tell Tarpey to keep taking the shot. I will take my chances with any player on that team other than Sheldon/Whitman taking that shot... even Schalk. Not one time did Schalk get in a triple threat position from the foul line. We have to take what the defense gives us. I for one hope we play them again. We should beat the Hens.

RE: PREVIEW: Game 25 W&M vs Delaware
Sad to say, but this was the first game I've attended this year. Delaware simply got ridiculously hot the first half. In hind site, could they have done a few things better...sure. But overall the level of play was exceptional. Marcus is a gift. The crowd energy was great. I didn't think Tarpey played that badlY. I would have liked have seen a few more back door cuts. I left feeling all is not lost.
