This will put an end to all the non sense. Id rather know who won the whole game not the free throw game at the end of regulation.

That doesn't happen as many think...let alone those teams that try that strategy are many times in the double bonus...good FT shooting teams can take advantage of a strategy like that.

Most college hoop games are still played in 2 hours or less....even with all the forced media timeouts.

I think sometimes fans get NBA late foul strategy confused with college...as the college game has just 4 time outs per team for the entire 2nd half...whereas NBA teams can have as many as 5 timeouts to use just in the 4th Q...most which are used in the final min or two of games...let alone more tv timeouts in the NBA game too.

Thats why NBA games lasting 2 hours and 30 mins plus is almost the norm in many cases....as the college game looks and is quick compared to their pro counterpart.

Trust me, I am not confused. College basketball games are unwatchable in the last 2 minutes. 4 timeouts per team usually means 8 timeouts total and almost all are saved for the last couple minutes.

I haven't seen many games this season where both teams had all their TOs at the end of the game. Perhaps the B1G has a bunch of games like this. I wouldn't know. I don't watch B1G basketball, if I can avoid it. But most of the games I've seen have one team or the other short on TOs at the end.

I don't know if you lived through UNC's four corners offense but that was the worst basketball ever. As soon as they would have a 4 point lead in the second half the game became a free throw shooting contest. One time UNC started a game against Duke using the stall. The game was 7 to 0 at half time. The game will never be played without a shot clock again.

I did live through that. It should be noted that the four corners was a very potent offense. UNC was one of the highest scoring teams in the country using it.

People confuse the four corner and the stall. They look somewhat similar if you aren't paying close attention.

The stall has little purpose other than milking clock and stall teams often turned down good shots.

Four corners offense teams passed a lot, did a little off the dribble and passed a whole lot more in order to try to create a mis-match that would yield easy points off a defensive error.

Fans for the opposing teams would chant, "boooriiinnnng, boooooorirrinnnng"

In a tribute to the late Dean Smith, UNC opened up their game with Georgia Tech today using his four corners offense. Roy Williams called for it by raising four fingers in the air as Smith so often did. And, like those UNC teams under Smith, Carolina scored an easy basket off that offense to start what became a rout.

Have got to say that was pretty awesome.
