For some reason I thought it was called State Farm Park.

There is a State Farm Field. Back in my day, it was for intramurals. I think the Field Hockey is out there now.

I hate that garbage. Cajuns play on that junk also if I'm not mistaken.

You might hate it, but it can rain for 3 days and the field will be playable in 30 minutes. You never get a bad hop and it stays green all year. App was one of the first to go 100% (except for the mound) artificial turf. There are now close to 75 DI college baseball programs playing on artificial turf.

There are a few fields in the SBC that are turf, and for the same reason. I think we would have had the conference tournament rained out two of the last three years without them (one at South Al, one in Lafayette).

I also like the look of the outfield at Boone. The tree backdrop reminds me of Tigue Moore field in Lafayette.

It's kind of necessary in Boone.

Lafayette is 5th rainiest city in US, it's necessary here as well.

No artificial playing surface at Stanky Field.

Yeah rain doesn't affect us quite as much.

We've been in some form of drought for about 4.5 straight years now. Though we are now on the lowest level and possibly close to getting out of it. 2011 it really didn't rain the entire summer.

One thing is certain though, if Texas State has a home football game it will likely rain.

No artificial playing surface at Stanky Field.

Thought it was Stanky. Maybe it was Troy?

Artificial is cheaper also and nobody has to maintain it like natural grass.

Interesting, I didn't know so many of the league fields were artificial.

(On an unrelated and completely juvenile note, I hope that the USA and App teams never combine forces and share the names of their fields, though it would be hilarious)
