3-game homestand
Let's go Hawks. I'm drunk on a ski vacation and might stay that way through Saturday.
Time to take first from those over-achievers from Williamsburg.

Already done. Congratulated them last night. But, we need to be careful. Those guys play shut down, Brownell style defense. They now have their Sr. guard back on the floor in Anthony Stitt(who we recruited but obviously didn't get), and he proceeded to dish out 5 assists against the Tribe, and the had their highest point total in CAA games at 80.

RE: 3-game homestand
Okay. So this 3 game home stand gets even bigger in stature. If we can somehow beat W&M, CoC and then NU in this stand, we will have swept Hofstra, NU, CoC and held serve with W&M.
We are already done with our away games against the top 5, and are 3-1 in those games. W&M is 1-3 on the road, and still has to face UNCW, Hofstra and NU on the road. They've also lost to the bottom 3 of the conference on the road.
The conference title is ours to lose at this point, with the schedule completely in our favor. I'm hoping our fans are completely on board, and will pack the house for these three huge games. Now is the time to take back our rightful spot at the top of the CAA.

If you are a UNCW coach, player, or fan you really can't ask for more than being right where we are - tied for first deep in the season, not dependent upon any other team losing in order to be regular season champs. The Hawks are masters of their own destiny, in as much as it is completely within their own ability to play their way to where they want to be.
It's been a very long time since that could be said.

Yep, but the difference between a W and an L is very thin in the CAA this year, so not a good idea to count chickens before they hatch!
That said...a game for first place, at home, against an excellent team, in a packed Trask? It's been a long time...and it's good to be a mid-major!

Very true but as fans we can't help but look ahead. This regular season title means a lot more to us than William & Mary and Northeastern. For those two programs, who've had fairly recent NIT berths (NU in 2013, W&M in 2010), it's the NCAA Tournament or bust. Heck, both schools, especially W&M, can make a decent case for earning NIT at-large bids anyways with the resumes they have.
For us, an NIT bid would be a wildly successful result coming off 6 straight losing seasons. The NCAA's is the ultimate prize, but it would be awesome to have that NIT bid locked up as a consolation before we head to Baltimore.
Saturday night, and this 3-game homestand as a whole, are going to determine whether or not we are capabale of earning that 1-seed.

They're giving out t shirts again this Saturday for the Feel my Teal game. That alone will bring in students, but the hype around the basketball team is starting to grow on campus. Can't wait for tomorrow night we should trask rocking

All student tickets are gone. Unsurprisingly.

Really? That is extremely disappointing. I'm a student. I thought they were first come first serve at the door...

For the last several years that's been true, but at some point this year they started handing them out at the desk due to demand. Not sure when or where, but a friend's sister got one of the "final 3 tickets left" yesterday.
You may be able to show your ID at the door and get in, but I imagine if you don't get in early they'll send you upstairs. Definitely get in any way you can, can't miss this one!

And though it's disappointing for you that student tickets may be gone, remember that this is a good thing for the program as a whole. Having the students back in full force, excited about basketball again has been a long time coming.

They will probably telll you to go sit upstairs, but there is no glass between the student section and the first row of the upstairs so if a student section ticket accidentally fell on the first row of the upstairs you would be in luck

You can always wait until half time and come in. Nobody is checking the gate at that point.

Nice. Lead them chants! And no lulls allowed in the noise level, especially when we're on defense!

I always preferred heckling the visitors during timeouts. The crowd usually goes a bit quiet then, and EVERYONE in Trask hears you, especially your intended target.
