Check out this list of D1 schools that have never made the NCAA tourney.

You'll notice that the only leagues without any representatives are power conferences (minus the B1G...boo Northwestern), the top m-word conferences (plus CUSA, depending on where you put them these days), the Ivy League, and...us. It's a minor thing, but cool to see.

Two former members on that list in Denver and UTPA.

The only SBC Women's program without a bid is Arkansas State.

As bad as we've been in basketball, at least I can take comfort in the fact that we're not at the bottom (in terms of number of bids). . . . . But boy it's sure been a long time since our last appearance . . . .

This is why it can be frustrating as a Cajun fan. This program is filled with rich basketball tradition. No not the tradition we see in Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, etc. But still rich tradition. The death penalty years ago really set this program back. At one time it was a powerhouse. Then it is shut down by the ncaa. We see a little boom in the 80's and 90's. But now it's nowhere near what it used to be. Hopefully we can get back there one day.

So you're bragging about how good you were when you were cheating, and got caught, and it frustrates the ULaLa fans now because you aren't allowed to continue to cheat... 05-stirthepot

South also had big teams back in the 80's and 90's, and it's frustrating to us because we weren't cheating and still can't seem to recapture that success.

Everyone "cheated" like we did back then, except our kids we were feeding were black... And you just couldn't have that back then, not around here. Educate yourself on the subject. Read the book "slammed dunked". There is a documentary coming out soon on it. We got the death penalty because we were going into top 10 all white teams houses and beating their azz but we had under privelaged black kids doing it. One of the most corrupt situations possible, even for louisana.

Doesn't surprise me.

The great story about their 2007 recruiting violations is the compliance officer who was the focal point of the case was hired at Arkansas State abotua year later, and went on to do the same thing here.

Further proof our AD at that time was a moron.

"Lights out in blackham"is the documentary coming out about the whole thing,If it's well done I would hope it gets picked up by espn, it's ashame the way that whole thing went down. Coach Shipley was standing up for civil rights when not a lot of people did, not many white people did publicly for sure. There is a trailer for it on YouTube.

Yeah that was a bunch of bologna. The courses were accepted one semester then the NCAA changed the rule and forced us to vacate wins.

That particular compliance officer had been involved in a scandal at UNO before UL hired her.

I don't know how much it was a scandal as it was she obviously just not very good at all at her job apparently.
