Pack Kaplan
If there's ever a time to pack Kaplan, it's on Feb 28th against Drexel. Marcus and Tom deserve this and our team will need a boost heading to Baltimore. Who knows, maybe this game will determine the CAA regular season champion? We need to do our part so let's pound the pavement, reach out to our Athletic Dept, and spread the word. Demand a second running of PackTheKap / GoldRush. What, we're above wearing a gold shirt more than once?

Folks, this is our year. Are you going to sit there and hope for the best or are you going to be an active participant? This is our destiny!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!

I have a better idea. Let's pack the place on Feb. 11, Feb. 14, and Feb. 25 just for practice. Feb. 14 is a national NBC game against Delaware.

Marcus, Tom and the whole team deserve it!

Yeah, the NBC games are important to have a good crowd, because of the chance for potential recruits to see what the atmosphere is like at games. Repeating the atmosphere of the last TV game couldn't hurt.

I'm also for packing the ALL of the last four home games, by the way. As someone said, it's good practice for Senior Night. 03-wink

Look, I don't need SF and Billy one up'ing me. I'm trying to get our AD to officially promote a second running of what was a successful Gold Rush affair against NU. Now, if you two gentlemen would kindly stand down and allow destiny to take its course, I would appreciate it.

Then let's really do this right. Let's invite back former players like David Schneider, Jimmy Moran, and obviously Brandon and Tim. Let's see if we can get the guys whose jerseys hang from the rafters to return. And....wouldn't it be neat for Mr. Giermak to be in the stands on the night that Marcus could surpass his record?

Personally I don't think we sould go for Marcus Thornton day, and I'm not sure a guy like Thornton would want that. It's a team sport, we have other players too. If Thornotn was our only senior maybe I would go for it, but even then it seems rude to the other players.

That said, I think we should email the AD about doing another Pack the Kap, try for something special for his last game

It would be quite interesting if someone could get John Lowenhaupt to return to The Hall/Kap.
The administration does need to step up promoting the basketball program, and do not give us excuses about not having $$$ to do so

I don't agree that this is an insult at all. I think the players recognize the impact that Marcus has had on the program.

All of that being said, my hashtag suggestion is not that the school should make it all about Marcus (although I think there needs to be recognition if he breaks the record and I'm in favor of retiring his jersey), but more as a grassroots movement.

The school should focus on #packthekap and any promotion around that. WE should show Marcus how much he means to us.

Just pull Lowenhaupt out of the crowd. He was at the game on Saturday.

I don't think Coach Shaver would want to have a "Marcus Thornton Day" before the season is completely over. Tony spends a lot of time emphasizing "Team Play" and de-emphasizing the importance of Individual accomplishments. To retire a player's jersey before the season is even over would simply not be appropriate.

Yeah, that's what I meant, I don't think Shaver nor Thornton would want it. My post wasn't that clear, I meant we should email the AD about trying for another big game (Gold rush, blackout whatever) not that we should email him about Marcus Thornton day.
