It is a totally different conference now! When Keno was at Providence, he had to play all those teams. The Big East now has maybe one team with any outside chance to win it all and that is Villanova. Just no comparison to how the conference used to be.

Hilarious are the extremes you will go to defend Keno for whatever reason. Did you order your CMU season tickets for next year yet?

As Steve said, the Big East is still a very good conference. Funny that you mention Notre Dame, who is having one of it's best seasons in YEARS. Only two losses. Who was one of them to? Oh yeah, Providence! I'm sure they miss Keno terribly right now.
What any of those teams are doing now is irrelevant to my argument. How they were doing when Keno Davis was coaching at Providence has everything to do with my argument. The Big East as constructed then was the greatest basketball conference in the history of college basketball. The Big East today may be decent compared to the other current conferences but it cannot compare to the old Big East and that is what they call a FACT.

You compared the new Big East to the MAC in terms of a step down, when it is obviously completely false. That's where your "argument" lost any respectability.

If you compare the current Big East to the previous Big East which for all intents and purposes was a "Super Conference." The difference is pretty stark. Not that the current Big East is horrible by today's standards but the previous Big East was ridiculously great. The point is simple. Providence has a much better chance to compete now against Creighton, Butler, Xavier, etc. Teams that we have come to know as Mid Major programs. Incidentally, 'Nova is the only team in the new Big East with fewer than 5 losses. It is a pretty average conference now. Does that make sense? Can we agree that it would be easier to compete in that conference now?

This is Murphy's worst conference start in four years he's been here. Troubling.

It's not pretty average. It's the 2nd best conference in the nation according to Sagarins. You keep ignoring that point. I already agreed that it's not as good as it used to be. But for you to keep insisting that it isn't a good conference is almost as ridiculous as your MAC analogy.

That's absurd. It is not even close to being the second best conference in the nation. I think you know that. Other than Villanova (17-2) who is great or really good in that conference? Use your eyes and your basketball knowledge. Name 5 stars in that conference. I'm right, you know I'm right, you just want to argue because you want to discredit Keno Davis.

6 teams in the RPI top 40, 4 in the top 25. Not absurd. Google is your friend, Bob.

Georgetown and Providence are both really good. They'll likely get at least 5 at-larges into the Big Dance, barring any collapses. Nova, GTown, Providence, Seton Hall, Butler all would be in right now, with St. John's and Xavier on the bubble. Could possibly get 7 out of 10. Yep, pretty average conference. You crack me up Bob.

I'm laughing at how idiotic your response is.

Coming from the king of idiotic responses, I'll take that as a compliment I guess.
