I disagree entirely. Past results should have no bearing on tomorrow night's game. And if we really are one of the top teams in the conference then we shouldn't lose to one of the absolute worst teams in the conference. No matter who it is no matter where it's played.

UD is a very young team that dealt with injuries early in the season. As recent scores and results demonstrate, they are an improving team. Would have much preferred playing them a month ago. Any road CAA win is a big one. All that said, this is a game we should win if we play up to our capabilities and with energy.

RE: Delaware
Since 1988, the Tribe has beaten Delaware three times.
Two of those wins were in the same season ... the 2009 - 2010 NIT season.
The ONLY Tribe win at Delaware since 1988 occurred in the 2009 - 2010 NIT season ... a one point win in OT.
Didn't some famous man once say that those who fail to understand history are deemed to repeat it, or something like that.
Delaware owns us in hoops the way we used to own UNH in football.
To say that a loss tonight is a sign of "issues" ignores the reality of the situation...for whatever reason, the Tribe normally loses to Delaware.
A win tonight says something ... a loss is the normal outcome.

I don't think past history has anything to do with the present, especially in College sports where there is a turnover on personnel year to year.
I know this much, UD is a mid-tier conf team at best this year, and the Tribe are firmly a top tier conf team, so going on that I would expect to see a similar result as they had on Saturday against Towson.
Think this team is firing on all cylinders now.

RE: Delaware
Winning at Delaware, who has owned us in hoops would be something akin to UNH beating us in football and hopefully lead to similar success in the post season.

To add even more to NJ Alum's comments, since Delaware joined the CAA in the 2001/02 season the Tribe has played the Hens 21 times. We won the very first conference game that Delaware ever played in the CAA, a game at Kaplan in January 2002 that I remember as a real physical war. We proceeded to lose 11 straight to these guys before sweeping the season series during the 2010-11 season, with the road win being the overtime game where David Schneider single handedly willed us back from a 7-8 point deficit in the last 15-20 seconds of the game. This sweep has now been followed by another seven game losing streak. That's 3-18 folks.
While the loss in Baltimore last March was by far the most crushing, the one regular season loss that actually sticks in my mind (actually its the only one that sticks in my mind) is the game at Delaware that I believe our website shows as a 93-82 overtime loss in January 2004. I only remember the game because I listened to the game in utter disbelief and decided afterwards that we would never beat Delaware again. As I recall, we had a 6 point lead and the ball with about a minute left in the game. On three consecutive possessions we were fouled, made the first free throw and missed the second, and they came down and made a 3 point shot, the last one I think at the buzzer. We went from a six point lead to going to overtime in a minute, while never turning the ball over.
If we win tonight, we should cherish it as a very important conference road win.

BTW, gohens.net doesn't even have a thread dedicated to our game.

To be fair, the majority of the Charleston thread on the UNCW board is just basically you and me trying to convince everyone to bet their life savings on UNCW tonight since Charleston is somehow favored and all of UNCW trying to talk themselves in and out of it.

Delaware website has a free feed. I'd give a direct link but a bit of a pain to get from my phone

RE: Delaware
Looks like a little REVENGE energy being channeled from Baltimore. We are a much better team pushing the ball up the court. Think we've got our consummate point guard in Tot. Sees the floor very, very well.
