RE: PREVIEW Game 18 - W&M vs. Towson
Hope Thornton is able to last all year. If you look at the D-I games, he has played:
39 Minutes - 4 times
38 Minutes - 6 times
37 Minutes - 2 times (today included)
36 Minutes - 1 time (Drexel 26 point blowout)
32 Minutes - 1 time (Charleston 30 point blowout)
26 Minutes - 1 time (WIU 34 point blowout)

That's a lot of minutes in 13 of the 15 D-I games.

Prewitt is the only other one more with more than 30 minutes at 31.8 per game, while Tarpey is at 29.7, Dixon at 27.9 and Sheldon at 23.9.

Off the bench, Whitman and Malinowski are averaging about 14 while Schlotman is at 13.2 and Tot around 10

would probably be beneficial to drop Thornton to ~33-35 minutes if we can. That could save enough playing time over the course of a CAA tournament to have him a bit fresher in the 2nd half of a potential championship game.

First time I've seen him look tired at the windup of a game.

Funny thing is that in our big comeback win versus UNCW Marcus was the difference in the final five minutes, playing sensationally those final minutes to lead the comeback. And he played 39 minutes in that game.

That level of ignorance is impressive. How do you not know what conference you're announcing?

The Patriot league reference is particularly appalling with Feinstein as part of the duo. For those who don't know, Feinstein has been involved in Navy football radio broadcasts for years. Navy is in the patriot for basketball, you would think he would know other teams in the league. I actually liked Feinsten's radio show, which was recently cancelled. I never agreed with his politics, but he is old enough to make references that I can understand and appreciate.

On a local show in Charlotte the host was answering a question about the best NFL team he has ever seen play. The host said he was born the year before the great Bear's season in 1985, so he couldn't comment on the Bears. Why bother asking historical questions when your frame of reference is the last two weeks?
I guess I am officially an old fart.

I do believe Feinstein just had a mental braincramp on the Patriot League mention...the telecast had CAA continuously and Feinstein correctly said CAA several other times.

He was, by the way, very complimentary about the Tribe, Shaver Thornton, Tarpey, et al
throughout the telecast as I rewatched it this morning.

Feinstein is a very good sports columnist for the Washington Post and, by the way, sticks up for the smaller colleges quite often.

I will say Feinstein kind of pissed me off when he was on a local DC radio show. He mentioned that he was working the W&M-Towson game. The guys mentioned it should be a good game, and Feinstein replied he'd only bother going because he was paid.
