I would rank ours as follows:

Joan C. Edwards Stadium (The Joan) - B- ......New field turf, luxury boxes, Two Jumbotrons with updated sound systems, HD ribbons...And atmosphere. Not a bad seat in the house. Gets a B- in my book because it is showing its age a little bit (finished in 1991) and the end zone seating looks cheap. Expandable to 56,000.

Chris Cline Athletic Complex (IPF) - A+ ..... Houses a 120 yard football field, a six-lane running track, portable tennis courts, seats 1,000 (pretty sure), and will house sports medicine/training programs as well as the MU Hall of Fame. One of the nicest in the country, let alone the conference.

Cam Henderson Center (The Cam) - C-..... and this is a generous grade... Completed in the early 1980's, it is a structural disaster despite all of the renovation efforts. Instead of the city and university putting their heads together for one phenomenal facility, they built two: The Big Sandy Superstore Arena (seats in the neighborhood of 5,000) and the Cam (originally seated 10,000+). Recently, major locker room and sound system renovations have been completed, but the air conditioning is a nightmare. The addition of luxury boxes have decreased seating to under 10,000 (which is fine because we are a dumpster fire now).

Dot Hicks Field (Softball) - A.... Small, but a very intimate venue without a bad seat. Field turf makes this field extremely versatile in inclement weather... Modern look and clean line

Hoops Family Field at Marshall University Soccer Complex - A+..... Built two years ago, this is a state of the art complex. Field Turf, Modern press box, locker rooms and seats 1006. Built on the site of Marshall's old basketball venue, Veteran's Memorial Field House. It boasts a monolith from the field house integrated into the façade of the new stadium (a stipulation the city put forth in the deal to sell to MU)

Marshall University Baseball Stadium - N........ As in "NONE" Our team has a makeshift field at the YMCE Kennedy Center about 8 miles off campus and play conference games in Charleston (50 miles away) at Appalachian Power Park, home of the WV Power rookie league ball clupb.

Not sure if I'm reading the stats right from our school site; but averaged 3400 last year, and only 2175 the year before. That seems kind of low; but I haven't been in Lafayette for basketball in many years! Right now we are averaging 3670, which should go up now that conference play has begun, and the students are finally back on campus. Pretty sure we had over 4000 last week for the GSU game.
I will say that "historically" we have had better attendance; but going back more than a decade is really not a good measure of where we are today.
The Cajundome is a very nice facility; but as many will say, kind of big for basketball. And it is a multi-purpose facility. There needs to be 6-7000 for it to feel really good IMO. Would be nice to have a dedicated BB facility that seats 8-9000; but that's not happening anytime soon!

Kid Brewer stadium-B needs work, agree about the "erector set" look on the visitors side and, the track. Frustrating thing is, we could have one of the most unique stadiums and loudest stadiums in the country if we could ever find the money to renovate it the right way, and get the seating up to atleast 30,000.

Holmes center B great location, looks wonderful from the outside, but its in need of some renovations, all the cold weather and snow/sleet thru the years is starting to take its toll.

Beaver field and Betty Smith stadiums- C+ nice stadiums, and good to hear renovations are on the way, but, still got a long way to go to catch up with the top SBC facilities.

Thanks! I looked at the satellite view and see what you're talking about. I had assumed it was an administrative area. As someone in construction that's strange. I'm not sure of the intent other than cost reduction.

Nice facility. Scoreboard and HD ribbons look great. $60 million in improvements coming. One major emphasis is to get new retractable seating and bring it closer to the court, for a way better basketball environment.

The Tigue (baseball): D
One of the best baseball experiences you can have, but unfortunately a lacking facility. Would almost be an F if we didn't get that new lovely scoreboard. Need a brand new grandstand, better coaches offices, etc. Good news is all of that is coming in the next phase of the master plan.

Lamson Park (softball): A+
One of the best softball parks in college football.

It's probably the only softball park in college football.

KBS Solid B. One of the best settings in college football. If the track was removed, the field pushed over towards the West (NOT HOME) stands, the upper level of the EAST (NOT VISITOR'S) stands were extended down over top of the existing lower stands to about half way on to where the track is now, the end zones enclosed close to the field and the video board moved close in, it would be one of the finest college stadiums at the G5 level.

Athletics Center A+. Incredible locker room / S&C / athletic training facilities / coaches offices and meeting rooms. State of the Art plug an play Hi-Def video center and lighting, club level seating and lux suites.

Holmes Center A-. Great site lines, low roof makes for a noisy environment. BTW, that low roof makes a center scoreboard impractical since people sitting in the top level couldn't see it. Great locker rooms and regardless of what was said previously the concourses are spacious (yes it does serve as our indoor track). Concession and restroom facilities are very good. The only minus is the gray seating, but that's another story.

Beaver Field B. Kind of small, but it makes up for it with a great playing surface, club house, indoor hitting and pitching facility. Poor location of the dugouts blocks vision down the lines and a so-so scoreboard keep if from being a really good facility. Coach Jones wants to convert seating to all individual. The biggest problem I have is the speakers are located on the pressbox right behind the top row of seating. For some reason the gameday folks thinks the volume needs to be loud enough to be heard in downtown Boone. I like the location. Very scenic with fans looking at tall trees of a very old forest, especially after the leaves pop out ( of course that isn't until May).

Indoor Practice Facility B. Only 80 yards long with little room on sidelines. Little too cramped for a 100+ players, but it is A - indoors and B - heated. Idea being tossed around to enlarge it to a full 120 yards and widen it quite a bit.

Softball Stadium C. Used to be our baseball facility. Good dugouts and bullpens. Seating consists of bleachers. Decent clubhouse and pressbox / coaches offices. Talk of a new facility to make way for expansion of Indoor Practice Facility.

When I was a freshman I went to a game and thought the section must be under construction or renovation. Then I thought it was just taking forever. It wasn't until a while later that I went out the back and say that it didn't exist all together. Very different but I like it better than the high school setups with bleachers on each side and walls on each end like UTSA has.

A. at uta our best facility is our relatively new 78 million$ arena. it is pretty top shelf.
A. our baseball and softball complex is just winding up renovations and new clubhouse construction so I would give them an A.
B+. track and field are at our football stadium and the track is always top notch.
B. our tennis facility has good courts but needs a nice clubhouse and more seating to be top flight.
C. our football stadium gets a c- for being small but the lighting and the locker and weight room facilities and playing surface bring the overall grade up in my view to a C.
C. we dont have a swim team anymore but the natatorium is old but operational. we had a top 25 level program back when I went to school there.

2000-2005 we were drawing 5k to 6k regularly for conference.. 8k for big games

I agree, the only problem I have with the dome is the seats being too far from the court, that is supposed to be corrected in the remodel....other than that it's a very nice facility.

Distance from the court at the Cajun Dome was one of my thoughts when we were season ticket holders for a few years after it first opened. (We were there from 1989-1992). My family loved the facility, but distance from the court seemed to reduce the fan contribution to the home court advantage when compared with the experience in Blackham Coliseum. Admittedly, we had seats about mid court in the lower part of the red section ... above the retractable seating ... so we might have been a little high. The experience might have been different for those fans closer to the court.

Distance from the court is still a very minor knock on the arena in my book. I still thought the Cajun Dome was a great place to watch basketball back then. The Cajun Dome would definitely be an intimidating place for the visiting team if you could move the Blackham game experience to the Cajun Dome.

The Cajundome is as good of an arena as you'll find in mid major basketball. It's a multi purpose arena that holds many concerts, so the acoustics in the place are awesome. It can make 4k sound like 10k very easily. The problem is the lack of attendance. Which actually the Cajuns lead the sun belt in attendance by about double.

He is a troll. CenturyLink Center in Bossier City? Does any College team play college ball in that arena? Some of these places listed are not nice arena's but do host some pretty good programs.
