Quote:At all but one of these 24 universities
that have more than doubled their
administrative spending per student,
the increase in instructional spending
has lagged far behind. And, with the
exception of the University of Alabama
at Birmingham, all of these universities
are private institutions.

RE: Administrative spending
Where have we increased our administrative spending?

Hmmm....

Well, Watts makes $835,000 per year. What did his predecessor make?
Brian Mackin was making $350,000 per year, but he resigned, got a pay raise, and no one sees him!!
I saw where Garrison (who resigned/was fired) makes some $25,000 per month currently from UAB! Is that normal?

I wonder what else is out there!

RE: Administrative spending
Looks to me like watts believes that the money spent on football is better spent on faculty and staff rather than on football (rifle & bowling, but they're really just collateral damage though). This way, the admin doesn't have to hack and slash its costs/budgets...

RE: Administrative spending
One man's "administrative bloat" is someone else's job. Like 58-56 said, that article is 5 years old and also ignores the dramatic drops in state funding. That is the real reason behind tuition increases. At any rate I'm not sure of any relevance it has to the current situation.

Which would be like yesterday to BamaBlazerfan. I guess the only reason he hasn't posted in this thread is because for once, it would be on topic.

When the stadium is gone, will the stadium seat certificates remain?
