Half time in San Marcos. Bobcats 38, jags 34 Cats Emani Gant leads all scorers with 18 points.
App falls to StAte 59-50, so maybe StAte coaches remarks didn't fall on deaf ears .....

Hot Garbage > App.
Hard to watch us shoot 29% and 17% from 3. Things will get better.

ULM defeats Troy 63-54 to move into a tie for 1st place in the SBC. What a job Keith Richard has done bringing this program back to respectability after basically the death penalty. If we can get a win against UALR Saturday night, it would set up a big showdown against the Cajuns on Monday night in Laffayette.

Keith Richard is a hell of a coach, and recruiter.

Agreed. I doubt we could keep him if he wasn't an alumnus and basically at his dream job. We definitely could have never gotten anyone of his caliber to coach the dumpster fire we had here if it had not been his alma mater.

RE: Comments/Summaries of SB bball games: Thursday, Jan 15
Witnessed the Ga. Southern/Louisiana game tonight in Statesboro. We had almost 4400 there tonight as people were turned away -- we do not have a large gym at all. It was our largest home basketball attendance since 2009. It is so nice to see our basketball team maybe turning the corner. We have been bad for many years. At 11-3, 4-1 in conference this year has been very good.
Louisiana is a very athletic team and Long is a very good player. I am not at all sure we would beat the Cajuns in a neutral place or certainly in Lafayette, but tonight we did. It has been a long, long time since we were in 1st place in a league in basketball (well technically tied for it).
I can see the real possibility of a rivalry blossoming between us and the Cajuns. In football it will have to wait until 2016 but in basketball and baseball I see the beginnings of one now.
And let me just say that Eagle fans know Hanner Fieldhouse is a substandard basketball faciliity. We need a new basketball facility and we all know it. But as we have been awful in this sport for many years it has been hard to build any momentum toward a new arena. That is what is so exciting about how our team is playing now. If we can keep this momentum going hopefully we can get something better to play in.

Ye Ha! We're at 10-5, 2 more wins than all of last season with 14 games to go. We get 5 more wins we will finish over .500
Ya gotta understand how great that is for TXST in terms of mens basketball.
Heck, just making the tournament will be a vast improvement over last year. (But I'll take more)

How Arkansas State's head coach didn't have multiple technicals tonight is beyond me. I've never seen a coach get away with as much as he did tonight.

Brady gets a wide leeway from the officials. He yells and screams more than any coach you'll ever see, but mostly its at his own players.

The WBB game was awesome. I didn't know out ladies had that kind of fight in them. The WBB stAte broadcaster was the biggest homer I've ever seen and we use to play Marshall.
The stAte MBB team isn't that good, but App is going through a bad slump right now. The stAte coach is yelly, screamy troll of a human being. The WBB coach was yelly and screamy too but this guy took it to a new level. There was a buffer between his seat and his assistants on both sides. There's no way he has that locker room right now.

More sellouts is probably a lot to ask, but I definitely think that tonight's win will buy GS a solid student turnout for the next few games.
They have figured out how to make it into the gym. Now they just need to get back to the sheer insanity of the old Hanner Hooligans. Hanner Fieldhouse isn't much, but when the lower bleachers on the student side are full and everyone is organized/into the game, that barn gets incredibly hostile.

Yes, our Women's BB announcer is a known homer. He almost got ejected from a game once for whining about an officials call on radio.
He's a fan though...so we don't really expect him to be any different.

Brady was the only entertaining thing about the game last night. Never seen a coach spend as much time on the court without getting a T.
