We would have covered the spread but allowed them to eat up the clock to get baskets while we dribbled the ball out. Our boys just didn't care about covering.

3,446 at the Hall for this one.

Not bad given school is still closed.

Despite some sloppy play we showed some dynamic offense at times and some very good defense about 70% of the time.

Tarpey now has three monster games in a row...his two remarkable games this week should give him CAA Player of the Week!

And Marcus was out of this world...a whirling dervish at times, he scored 27 points and took just 13 shots!. He had five assists and seven rebounds and a steal while he was at it. In a couple of words...he is out-of-this-world. One of his three pointers was NBA plus about three more feet!



Great crowd...with students we would have been well over 4000.

Tarpey is really good. We never would have thought it last year. We saw some good defense and some workman like performances, but this year is different. This guy is a beast and he's getting it done at 6'5". Wow.

This one was won on the backs of Marcus and Terry. Sheldon, Whitman, Omar, and Malinowski all played well at times, but there was a 10 minute stretch in the second half where nobody could do anything. Omar, surprisingly, had most of his impact on the defensive end with rebounding and blocking shots. The way the refs were (not) calling the game, it could have been a combined record for blocked shots. Loved Whitman's aggressiveness going to the basket; his dunk reminded me a lot of Marcus Kitts, and that's a good thing especially for a freshman.

A few interesting stats:

*While Omar struggled with his three-point shots, he still played a whale of a game: eight points, seven rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

*Sheldon a force: 8 points and four blocked shots, plus great play on the perimeter setting blocks, distributing the ball, and hawking JMU on the pefrimeter.

*Marcus now shooting for the season an unbelievable 46.6 % from the three-point line.
He was six for eight last night, many NBA range. I hope everyone appreciates the greatness of Marcus as his senior year ebbs away with each game; we may not see his type of talent
ever again. As an added bonus he came away with seven rebounds last night.

*Terry Tarpey has raised his remarkable game to All-CAA consideration. He might have had, as Charlie Woolum said on the post-game radio show, a quadruple-double if you count the ten ball deflections Charlie estimated he had against JMU.

*Nice contributions from true freshmen Burchfield (5 points) and Malinowski (3 points)

*Best foul shooting of the season last night.

Should be fun at Tony's luncheon at Anna's Brick Oven Tuesday at noon!
