RE: UNC
The biggest issue I have seen this year is hustle. Everyone is planted in one spot reaching and not moving or diving. They did well against UNC on the first shot, but UNC was getting rebounds and loose balls and getting 2-3 shots every time down the court.
Last year, even when Jordan was having issues scoring, no one on the court wanted to get a loose ball more than he did. The way he played made the others want to put it all out there, also. We have good guys. We have alot of young guys. We need a couple that let it all hang out when they get on the court and fly to every loose ball.

Could this be due to the mental change in all UAB sports that results from the school's leadership killing a premier sport which may extend into other sports an instability that their program may be next in line or just demoted (in conference)? A player thinking he may want/have to find a new "home school" next year may not be as willing to "let it all hang out" this year.

I don't understand. Can you relate it to PearlHarbor. That would clear it up.
It makes perfect sense that everybody is trying really hard to pick up a transfer offer by being lazy

Well put. We had a lot of really hard working guys on the team last year.(Rucker, rob, swing, Chad, faz, Madison). This year we have a guy or two who may do so in spurts, but it isn't an all the time thing. I don't know why it is that way, but it's something we must fix.
Our guys also best UNC for a few minutes running the press in that game. I really wish Haase would insert that into his defenses more often. Just throw it out there randomly and hope to catch the opponent off guard. We are terrible in traditional defenses at the moment, so rotating in some less traditional ones could work. Our guys always seem to have a spark when we press, but we never seem to do so when we still have a real shot in the game.
