Will LU win vs. Princeton moves Flames from RPI cellar?
It's tough when your teams is at the bottom of the RPI at #351. Fans are disenchanted, attendance and interest suffers and rumblings occur that changes need to be made. Players. coaches and the admin are all on edge.

Tonight, Liberty (#351) plays Princeton (#282) in New Jersey. Will an OOC game victory move LU from the RPI cellar? Let's hope so. Change happens one step at a time. Is Liberty doomed this season or can the Flames turn it around? If you think they can turn it around, how?

I think a win would have brought Liberty out of the #351 spot. How far, I'm not sure. I don't know much about RPI and Princeton wasn't much better anyway.

Liberty needs a culture change. They have a loser's mentality in basketball, almost like a Charlie Brown atmosphere. We seem complacent with losing and have a "better luck next time" attitude instead of "this sucks and it needs to change." I want some fire in the coaching staff. That doesn't mean I need a bunch of yelling, arrogance, swag, or whatever else people are calling it these days. I want to see some tough, hard-nosed, blue collar, above and beyond type workers going for it. We need an infusion of young talent that is committed to winning instead of JuCos and transfers looking for playing time.

Something's gotta give. It sure seems like we are headed toward another 20 loss season. I can't imagine Coach Layer could survive that. Then again, I don't think our AD will fire him either.

I don't know how anyone could survive what is going on with the LU basketball program regardless of who is AD. But look, our RPI IMPROVED to 350 after our 18 point loss to Princeton! Thanks Rice! How bad must they be if they dropped below us after we just took on in the chin (and other areas) like that from Princeton?

Ageed with most of your points and the current status of the MBB program. Even though the Lady Flames lost two games this week to Minnesota and So Carolina, that attitude of complacency does not define and identify the woman's program. Coach Green has incrementally improved, and maintained the program. He likely has taken it as far as he can as a BS member. Top players want to play with top programs. Playing in the BS, that has served our purpose in the past, is now one of our most restrictive positions.

I hope AD Barber steps up and thanks Layer and let's him go now. Let the program succeed to whatever level it can. Enough of this losing. I hope the end is the now. Not until after the season. Make a statement now. Shake the team up. What do we have to lose? It seems like we are going to lose anyway.
