NDSU v. SHSU
I am sick of NDSU winning, but have a hard time pulling for a FCS team that has 18 FBS transfers. I know the transfer process is legal, but it all just seems a bit shady to me in too many cases.
My son saw the SHSU QB and said "Boy, W&M could use him". I then tried to explain the transfer process and how we are affected by same.

Simple solution to your rooting dilemma: whoever wins this game loses to UNH

Also over on the AGS boards they're saying that Keeler complained to the NCAA about NDSU's pregame. I don't know if there's any truth to the rumor but it certainly sounds like something he would do.

NDSU is well coached. I have to respect their physical play, smashmouth style. They lost a ton of starters and their coach, and they are heading to Frisco again.
Also, playing at home, every playoff game, every year does not hurt.

Hate the prospect of the MVC deciding their championship in the FCS Championship, and would sure rather see UNH get a revenge shot at last year's semi blow-out.

RE: NDSU v. SHSU
As much as I hate the MVFC dominance I hated the idea of a team (SHSU) who lost to a DII team playing in the national championship game even more. That would have reflected poorly on the whole subdivision.

I respect NDSU's program. Recruited players, great fans, nice stadium.
I hate the loaded with transfers crap (SHSU, Towson, UD, SBU, etc) but all of us would love a couple transfers at positions of weakness.

A transfer or two yes, but a model where prospecting for head cases, or guys that could not behave in FBS does not cut it. IMO tends to even more reduce the "player" v. "student player".

Can't help but think a Robertson lead Villanova would've made for a much closer game

I don't understand all this antipathy towards the Missouri Valley. They got some rugged outfits in that conference. Basketball also. I realize that Fargo is not Williamsburg; but , isn't there room for a little diversity? One thing about those guys that really impresses me is their open field tackling. If you had to strap it on against that offense in practice, you'd get better.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but just wanted to address the "transfers crap".
SHSU lost Coach Fritz Jan 10, and KCK wasn't hired until the 23rd, less than two weeks from National Signing Day. Only 13 players signed. We were also losing probably the best senior class SHSU has ever seen. Lost our All-Time winningest QB Bell, 3 time Walter Payton finalist Flanders, two starting WRs, All-Time Interception Leader Sneed, ect... I think We lost 8 offensive starters and 7 defensive starters. Not to mention, at the time we were switching to a completely new offensive scheme - from triple option to (at the time)up-tempo spread. It doesn't surprise me at all that we ended up with so many transfers, and it bit us in the butt early in the season since we started out 1-3.
I really hope we stop looking to the FBS so heavily in the years to come, but in the end all of these transfers are Bearkats now. They would have transfered away from their first school anyway, so I'm glad they chose SHSU to continue their college career.

If you don't like transfers so much you may not like KC over time. He never started a recruited QB in all his years at Delaware.

Remember he won an FCS championship.
Keeler seems adept at recruiting & using transfers that fit the team. If that works it is just another model.
