Tribe is up 46-16 at the half. Looks like they'll coast through the second half for an easy win

RE: Washington College
Was sloppy, but am glad this was a D3 game, after seeing a sloppy #18 Miami come off their exam break tonight and get blown out at home to Eastern KY (who had lost 3 nights earlier.) Hopefully some of the rust off, and can make a competitive run at ODU, who won again tonight. Will be a tough, wake-up game Monday night, but another chance for this team to show if they can take the next step. Jeff Jones has done an incredible job, but he has, also, helped his cause this year with 8 home games, 3 neutral games, and only 1 true away game to start the season.

W&M is now 5-0 at home.

Whitman needs to practice his free throws, 39% on the season. Especially for a backup role player, Glover is a good FT guy, 9/10 on the year. If we need to close out games (and the other team starts fouling us) it might be worth putting him in.

RE: Washington College
Schlotman injured his same bad ankle that's bothered him since pre-season...this re-injury
didn't look good and we may lose him for a period of time. This will hurt us: Mike was really beginning to platy well as his ankle recovered and we may have to rely on Tot for Schlotman's minutes for a while.

Look for Marcus, Tarpey and Dixon to play 38 minutes Monday night.

RE: Washington College
I agree, TH, the DIII game in this spot on the schedule, is always going to be fine with me.

I also think Jack needs to play with a lot more self-confidence. He needs to make those free throws, but even more, he needs to go at the rim with a LOT more strength and confidence. Too many of his shots, within two feet, are getting mis-directed by defensive players. He just needs to get an attitude and attack the basket.

We still don't have a lot of depth after the starting five, so it was tough to see Mike go down. Some other guys are going to have to show that they are ready for the bright lights.

It should be a good test on Monday.

I'm sure it's the Chicken Little in me but I did not like the grimace made by Whitman after he hung on the rim after a dunk attempt. There was a quick discussion on the broadcast about stretching the back or a shoulder. Hopefully it's nothing.

Off the subject, but I also saw that Coach Holmes' Dad just got his 700th win. Pretty impressive feet.

Interesting sidenote: Mitchell Reiss, the new President of Colonial Williamsburg [as of 3 months ago] was President of Washington College before he joined CW. Prior to Washington College, Reiss [or Riess] was Vice Provost of W&M's Wendy and Emory Reeves School for International Studies. He is an accomplished scholar and diplomat and well respected in International Affaires.

I don't know if he was at the game, but would not be surprised if he was.

I'm partial to their nickname, the Shoreman.

Nothing more impressive than people who make a living on the Chesapeake.

Actually, I believe the team name is The Shoremen [with an "e"], and I, too, like the name especially because it is not politically correct. I AM surprised that no one has found the team name "hurtful and oppressive', after all, Washington College is a co-ed school with a substantial female population in the student body.

As somebody else noted, the OOC home portion of the schedule was pretty weak though overall, the full OOC schedule ranks among the toughest in the CAA.

Here's something to chew on though - I can't imagine it has ever happened in Tribe basketball history. I can't see a single home game on the schedule where we will be underdogs.

Wofford for now appears to rank as the toughest game on our home schedule.

Wofford could well be the best team we play but Northeastern and Hofstra, at least according to preseason projections and their play so far, will be extremely difficult.
