Well, the Hawks have the Cards next. They are an absolute terror to deal with. It's going to be very difficult to score against this team. The one thing that stands out for them is how hard they board the ball and defend in the half court. It's a joke. Hopefully the Hawks can play their game and that Dylan can get back out there. This is going to be a tough game to deal with. This Cards team is a definite final 8 club with a shot at the Final 4. Outside shooting may be their demise against a Duke or Kentucky.

RE: Louisville
They could lose by 50 but Pitino will call off the dogs early and cruise it in.

Just getting in after a church meeting. Sounds like they didn't get crushed in the 1st half but not looking as good thus far in the 2nd half. Louisville is a defensive juggernaut so I figured this would happen. Now down 14.

Geez, I walk in and we're down 4, and within a few minutes back to ten. DVR's, so I can go back and watch the tape.

Hawks cut it to 2 but fall 68-57 in the end. Hawks played hard. Talley and Ogbodo played really good and Freddie Jackson is a star.

Great game for the hawks. The hustle defense they played against a top 4 team was impressive. We need to win some home games and get some big crowds back into Trask. The future is looking bright for UNCW sports.

If Chuck and Jordan can build on this game, UNCW will be better off. A sophomore and a freshman that will be around for a while. Chuck has nice size so we could really benefit from him playing well. Now the Hawks have to hold serve against Liberty.

RE: Louisville
Going back through the game, here is what stood out.

1. Talley looked really good. Great defense, under control ball handling, takes good shots and passes well.

2. Ogbodo looked good on defense and hit the boards hard.

3. Freddie is a great athlete, but still gets a bit out of control

4. We really need Sherwood on the floor. He's just money from 3.

But, most of all, I like the way we handle pressure. That has been our Achilles heel during our failing years. It used to be all it took was a team to start pressuring the ball and we'd fall apart. I can't help but being excited for the future of this team with Keatts at the helm.

Oh, and I kept waiting for Pitino to call off the dogs and cruise to their 50 point win. Fool.

Even Pitino, who was very complimentary of Keatts, felt that we were still a year away from being competitive. Today's result showed maybe we'll make some noise immediately. And not just with Buzz's players; Talley is indeed impressive.

RE: Louisville
UNCW hung in there and competed and that was the best thing I saw them do.Went down big right after the second half started and could have quit but they came back.I thought both teams played very sloppy but hard-like they should.Jackson looked liked he could compete with them athletically but everybody else was over matched for the most part.Harrel is a beast and did pretty much whatever he wanted when he got the ball.I thought he won the game for them.
UNCW also looked tired and a little out of shape to me after they made the run.Two guys with cramps tells me they are not in very good shape.Maybe just dehydrated but it was a factor at the end of the game. They should have very rested and ready to go 40 minutes if need be.
Overall I see it as a plus for UNCW even if they lost and I am not into moral victories.Talent wise they could have lost by 50.
