Ray Watts is clearly not the leader UAB needs. He has no idea what UAB has stood for during Carol Garrison's glorious era. When he says he "loves UAB," I believe him, but not the UAB that exists today that dares to dream big, but the humble UAB of yesteryear that was nothing more than a medical extension center of the University of Alabama. His reign at UAB has been a complete disaster and getting rid of football as well as potentially affecting its auxiliary programs just puts the exclamation point on his 2-year "F U" to the students of UAB. "Knowledge that will change your world" is the lamest slogan ever and the associated commercials with the slow-tempo piano were so boring they made me fall asleep. Not to mention what he did to the license plates, completely removing Blaze. In closing never before has an administration been so out-of-touch with the students of today and what they demand for their tuition dollar.
