Arkansas State, Texas State and USA all ended up with the same conference record of 5-3. Since no one team swept the other two, the next tie breaker should be overall record. Texas State and Arkansas State should both rank ahead of USA with an overall record of 7-5. Texas State should have the tie breaker with Arkansas State because we won the head-to-head match up.

We can never win the location argument with USA. But out of 64 schools with 7 or more wins, we will be the only school at home for the holidays. That does not seem right when a 6-6 team from our own conference is getting in. That should not make anyone at Texas State happy.

We still have a shot at an At Large, the only shot we've got, but hey, at least we ain't dead yet .. .

I've pulled so hard for you guys these last two years and I gotta tell ya, it's getting tough to continue.....okay, slight humor there. A win over S. Al gives you another knotch in the W column, them a loss, and makes it doubly hard for a bowl to go with them. Heck, depending on how things played out after a loss to Tx State, they might not even have become bowl-eligible.

Having said all that, I'm about 75% confident that you guys bowl this year. It might be in a frozen wasteland somewhere, but it'll be a bowl game.

I was proud of the way the team bounced back after the USA game. After that one a lot of teams would have came out flat against stAte. Our guys knew they needed to get to 7 and they did, I just hope it pays off.

I actually tweeted the guy telling him to chill.

He's still pretty upset that Ellison was dropping fbombs and talking inappropriate trash within ear shot of some children at our stadium.

I heard the same from a couple other people. Ellison is quickly becoming known as a notorious trash talker.

I'm sure we have players that trash talk too. It happens. and I know from experience that it's easy to get caught up with it on the field. (well court for me) and sometimes you forget who might be overhearing. the guy that tweeted Ellison obviously took it too personally though.

I'm sure the kids have all but forgotten about it by now... but it did happen. Heard it from a couple reputable friends.

eh. I'm sure he wasn't talking directly towards the fans. In which case, if it is teammates getting fired up together, I typically don't care about that too much, especially as tense as that game was.

I think he over-reacted and shouldn't have stooped to that level... but it was posted to a public twitter account. Not like he went to the guy's house.

Yeah the tweet was clearly intended to taunt, but all in all it was pretty tame.

as NCeagle said though... kind of opened himself up for some return trash talk if we don't make a bowl now.
