Support is pouring in from all over, it's amazing! I hope it makes a difference...They can no longer operate in the shadows, they thought this would be a "quick, painless hit"...they were (bleeping) wrong...

Yes! No more of this cloak and dagger bull****!!! They can't buy Coach Clark like they have Watts and Mackin!

And you should thank God daily for John Rogers. He's the best friend we have in Fun-gomery.

We need all the allies we can get...He's in UAB's corner, I'm in his...My encounter with him was by mere chance, and truth be told, it was reassuring to hear the confidence in his voice that this will somehow work out for the better, and I'm not the most optimistic guy in the world, it's one of the burdens of being a Blazers fan, 03-lmfao but I needed to hear something like that from someone close to the situation. I was getting nothing from UAB administration, Blazer Boosters, the UAB ticket office, the Alumni Association, and was sure as hell getting nothing from those tyrants in tuscaloosa...That 2 or 3 minute talk with Rogers rejuvenated me at a time when I was seriously contemplating throwing in the towel...

I read it. I appreciate what he's done for UAB but I have to take what he says with a grain of salt.

Jack Williams is UAB's best friend in Montgomery. He is a republican that is getting pounded for what he believes in. Trust me until I hear Coach Clark tell me that everything is okay. We have to keep the pressure on. The only person I trust is Clark.

This issue cuts across the political spectrum. It doesn't matter whether our allies are democrats or republicans we just need allies in Montgomery.

Indeed. This is precisely the sort of outrage that makes for strange political bedfellows.

Football Foundation tells us they are killing football\\\Insiders tell us things are actually more positive than they have been///Wait a minute, Mackin fired and football gone\\\The grape vine news says that UAB football is safe, Watts and Clark to meet tomorrow///

Make it stop!

I will say, if it's true about the meeting at 9am with Watts and Clark, then the march couldn't have been timed any better.

About like the local news media too - the anchors open up w/ the rally & say things are positive then the sports segment comes on & they say Mackin's gone along w/ the rest of athletics.

Jack may actually be the ONLY Republican in Montgomery that looks out for Birmingham. I haven't heard a peep out of the others...

I'm sure there are plenty of Republican UAB alumni that are livid over this. This has nothing to do with Red vs Blue. If someone wants to make it a fiscal issue then we can hammer them with the spending on the UAT campus that has nothing to do with UAT Football or university profits.
