Prewitt grabbed the rebound dribbled upcourt and launched a long three

I think he thought there was an opportunity to quickly get the ball up the court and shoot before Richmond could figure out what they were doing on defense. Unfortunately no one thought to find the guy who was on fire and let him shoot.

Right, that should have been 2. Refs clearly wanted UR. That palming call on MT with the game on the line was a terrible call.

But, hit just 2 more FREE throws and we win. Same song, guys, poor FREE throw shooting and turnovers. Good game, Marcus...you deserve better.

Yeah I saw his rationale. I just would have rather seen a designed play go to Marcus

He called a timeout and set up the play before the second free throw.

RE: Richmond
How can you lose a game when you shoot 58% to 45%, 53% to 33% from three, AND out rebound them 27 to 24. Maybe TWENTY SEVEN FT attempts to just 10 for the Tribe?!? That's how. Marcus only TWO FT attempts in a game where he played 38 minutes and scored 37! Give me a freaking break. Should have called a timeout and set up a play at the end instead of a disorganized attempt where Omar luckily got fouled with five seconds to go. He almost air balled the freaking FT, if he makes both there we probably win the damn game!

RE: Richmond
Yeah, it would have been nice to get some more scoring elsewhere, but there weren't a lot of shots passed up by the rest of the team. Marcus got the ball (until the end when he was on fumes) and looked to score, and when you're dropping 35-40, that's the right move. I would have liked to see Marcus get a little bit more rest, but it's hard to argue with keeping a guy on the court when he's making contested fadeaway 3s in the corner. Most of the bad calls that mattered resulted in Richmond offensive rebounds, including both "hustle" plays by their big man that were called out by the announcers. That hurt us with Tarpey getting into foul trouble. But I think if we play that game 10 times we win 5-7. As much as it would be nice to have a chance at an at large, our schedule probably wasn't going to get that for us, so we know that these games ultimately don't matter. It was a good showing, we should be holding our heads up.

Marcus was running off the same screens that got him open the rest of the game at the end, but he was gassed. His defender was denying him and that's why the ball went to Omar. If Marcus had the energy to make those plays, he would have made a couple quick cuts to get the ball. He came off the screens and got out of the way.

Great basketball game, you all will have a very good year. Thorton put on an amazing display, not surprising as I have seen it before from him. Dixon is tough and a little ornery(in a good way). I thought Sheldon played a decent game. Prewitt should have been given two shots. I also thought Thorton was running out alone up the sideline on the missed free throw at the end. If you all can clean up some of the turnovers you will be hard to beat.

Any game against Richmond ... in any sport ... at any time .... MATTERS!

Bragging rights matter!

Sometimes, it is just heart-breaking being a Tribe hoops' fan ... very painful loss.

Salvation must be close at hand ... these heart-breakers to in-state rivals in hoops and football are a heavy cross, indeed!

Hoping for a quick bounce back in the next game, and grab that "W".

Go Tribe!

For those not at the game, if you think the officiating was bias, multiply that tenfold in person. Not sure Duke could have overcome Richmond's home advantage tonight, even with Coach K working the refs worse than Mooney.

There are takeaways...Young team is getting better and better. They almost pulled it out despite the officiating disadvantage. Feel very, very good about where this team will be, come January.

Believe Omar had an ankle injury coming in which explains his subpar performance. They needed Omar to be Omar tonight.

Marcus could not get open on that last play. Anderson was on him like glue for the last 3 minutes. Marcus was mauled quite a bit and deserved/should have been on the foul line.

Kudos to Sean Sheldon for going 3-3 from the line, including 2 big FT's in the stretch. Major turnaround from last Saturday.

Disappointed we didn't get the W, but this team is going to be a handful the rest of the way. Shame this game wasn't at Kaplan this year.

Don't get me wrong...I love me some Kentucky Long Rifle & #Omarcoming...but he HAS to make those free throws at the end of games in Money Time. Now go beat the hell out of High Point and go into exam break on a high note!

That was a good game. I like this team. We don't back down. There were several times in the second half when I thought we were on the verge of unraveling...down 4, down 5. In retrospect, that was unfair. Maybe that's for Tribe teams of previous years, not this one.

I'm glad I witnessed Marcus live tonight. It was one of those "No, no...good shot!" nights. And they just kept coming. Quite incredible.

This team is tough. Their attitude is fearless, yet poised. Individual play should improve and January might be a pivotal month. Our defense continues to control the pace of the game. UR had a mini-steak of fast breaks, maybe two possessions, and we quickly got it under control. We looked like we had a tough time moving the ball against their defense, though. Too many turnovers and some awkward cuts and passes.

There was a good Tribe crowd there-, loud and supportive.

By the way, UR football team was practicing under the lights right beside the Robins Center. Tell me that wasn't orchestrated.

Ugh, if there was ever a time to complain about the refs now is the time. The fact that we were even in that game at the end was a Marcus Thornton miracle. We always get hosed in the Robins center.
