Sun Belt 3-2 versus DI competition, with wins over the Missouri Valley, C-USA and WAC. Losses to the Big 10 and MAC. Good way to start.

Ohio 73 App. St. 47 Final
ULM 31 UAB 23 1 min. left in half.

For Ohio, Appalachian State was a 1 and done buy game. 7,113 in attendance tonight after 11,180 in the opener. Made the SBC look real tiny tonight.

To be fair...App State is on probation and recovering from a disastrous coaching hire. They are the worst team in the conference for a reason.

They just completed a 1 and done at a MAC school. I wonder how much App made on this money game.

ULM had a nice opening win for the SBC tonight. Hopefully ULM is much improved.

I don't know about you guys, but most of us throw large portions of our Athletic Budgets into football, so basketball isn't really a sustainable resource. They have to take guarantees in order to be able to continue to exist as a program. Even if it means taking one from Ohio.

I think so, Keith Richard is too good of a coach and recruiter to not start winning there.

Ark-Monticello at UALR today should be a UALR win.

All in all a good 1st weekend of basketball for the Sun Belt.

We won, but had a few hiccups along the way. Monticello had one kid who couldn't miss from the arc. That is always the chance you take when you play D2 teams. Their guys are a step slow, but that doesn't mean they don't have players who can light it up if you leave them open.

On the positive side, it looks like we are going to have several threats from outside this season.

Well...not all of us.
