Problem is...if Texas State wins and South loses to SC and Navy, Texas State has to go to a conference tied bowl by rule, meaning they are trading Armed Forces/Heart of Dallas for the Camelia Bowl.

Yup thats the problem. I don't see a big crowd going to Montgomery. At least it's a Saturday. I wonder if the stars align and GS gets to go to a bowl and the are conference champs or cochamps, do one of the SBC bowls consider them first or will they go to a random open spot in a bowl? I'd see them in Camella and then TXST back in HOD. But hey, lets win against USA first before I think of too many scenerios.

That's right. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.04-chairshot

Ga Tech leading 19-3 over Clemson in the 3rd which helps Ga Southern's case.

Not a great week with Arkansas, Northwestern, Oregon State, and South Alabama getting wins.

Maybe we can close this thread that never needed to be started. We're in a conference with 3 Bowl tie-ins outside of being the highest ranked G5. The math will be easy every year. We are 0-3 OOC which should never be good enough for any team to go bowling.

Really? So a possible 9-3 team shouldn't go bowling if eligible? I agree we stunk it up yesterday, but any 9-3 team no matter what conference should go bowling. Same goes for 8-4 teams.

So in your opinion, should ULL, who is also winless in non-conference FBS games, not be allowed in a bowl?

1-3. I guess we need to schedule three horrible G5 tomato cans instead of P5's from now on.

Tomato cans? Jeez, Biff.

Hell, I'm holding out hope we wind up in the Sugar Bowl. Stranger things have happened.

Yes like you posting something in support of GS and admitting you were dead wrong about the Belt not being a step up from the SoCon and just about everything about moving to the FBS.

Completely only semi related, but Buffalo's game at home against awful Kent State was Blizzarded out...(If there is such a term) There will likely not be a makeup date. That will probably knock Buffalo out of the MAC's plans.

Wow...... I have Buffalo listed as pretty much a lock to get to six wins due to Kent being on the Schedule.

I know it wont happen, but we've got a similar situation going on with Florida. Since the Idaho game was cancelled. IF they lose EKU, who is having a pretty good FCS seaon - they wont make 6 without an upset of Florida State. Go EKU! :)

OT but work picked a heck of a week to send me on a business trip to Buffalo. It's the craziest thing I've ever witnessed. We are about a mile from UB stadium and this area of town has six inches or so of snow But less then five miles south of here, they have six FEET!!!!

Tell that to him. He is still salty about this FBS thing and constantly degrades GS accomplishments in the FBS. I will call him out every time. Dude changed his screen name on GSUfans to avoid embarrassment of his asinine previous statements.

We have a couple of folks like that on the MMB. We should get them together for one big SoCon lovefest.

It doesn't matter if you're in the SEC. You're provisional FBS and you're last in line. You also have 0 wins over teams with winning FBS records (unless USA manages to upset either Navy or South Carolina or Texas State manages to win 2 games).

It would have made little difference had you beaten NC State and Georgia Tech too.

There's a reason why App redshirted all of their players.

Ga Southern might make it in, but you don't control your destiny.

What the heck does appy redshirting anyone have to do with this discussion. We get it you are young but it's not like we didn't redshirt a bunch also. Heck everyone did. App didn't just re-invent the wheel. I bet if your coach had someone special he would have pulled the red shirt no matter what coach speak he tells to media and boosters.
