I'm hopeful we get a few back that went to Little Bit A Christmas instead. I'm amazed at the number of people who would skip football for a craft show.
Trust me, we don't get it either. Its a gigantic fundraiser for our Athletic program that was created a long time ago when ASU football wasn't a big deal, and the idea was to give the Wives something to do while all the men are in the deer woods.
It morphed into this manic festival where people sign up years in advance just to get a space and thousands turn out. It really hurts our crowd, especially the women who often decide they'd rather go Christmas Shopping.
We need to start asking the SBC to put us on the road this week. Lots of dangerous traffic scenarios because of all the little old ladies who don't realize there is a football game and walk out in front of traffic. Someone is going to get hit eventually.
Only thing worse is War Eagle Festival in NW Arkansas. SEC put Arkansas at home one year during War Eagle and you'd have thought Ted Cruz had told a Tea Party Convention that President Obama had some good ideas they should embrace.
Big shortage of hotel rooms and probably the only time the Arkansas press hasn't taken the side of the Razorbacks.

I say that's an accomplishment for us. Now, we have to get our attendance up over 25k/avg.
Pretty rough attendance today, considering it was actually a good matchup.
Not for nothing, but no one in Texas has heard of Georgia Southern (I am sure the same can be said of Texas State in Georgia).
Given a lack of promotion we saw this week, as well as the numerous other distractions around (deer season, wurstfest, FFF, and...dammit, the UT game), it was about what I expected. A little low, but in the area code.
You're probably right about the familiarity (in both cases), but I would have thought the place would have been rocking based on what appeared to be a full parking lot where we were (Mill Street), as well as the lots where more tailgaters were.
I feel your pain on the UT game thing.
I can assure you that GS fans have heard of Texas State.

Willing to bet there are a large number of casual fans that have no idea about 2005. Hell, as a newer die hard, I wasn't around for that game (although I've heard plenty about it)

Yeah, the students from 2005 probably remember us, as well as the alumni.
But I just figured a (for example) sophomore at Georgia Southern this year would go "Who is Texas State?"

We are in the same boat as you guys, with Idaho coming to The Rock on the 29th. I feel we will be lucky to have much more than 15k there based on attendance at past playoff games on the Saturday after Thanksgiving...

Surely next year?
Schedule simply rotates home and away next year. No change, barring someone new coming in.
You guys got incredibly lucky then. You will never have to play two of the strongest teams in ULL or stAte.

In 2016-17 and on we likely will be playing both every year, depending on whether we go to 12 teams by then.

Maybe you're being facetious and I missed it, but it would obviously change in 2016.
