I agree with this. Seems like there could be a big story here if they were able to uncover anything tangible.

I'm afraid you can forget it in this state. Scarbo is about the best you are going to get and I don't think even he is going to stick his neck out there and let his head get lopped off.

I have read the B'ham NEWS for almost 6 decades and have reached the conclusion that the term "investigative journalism" there has most often meant reaching out for whatever PR handout is offered by an authority. The question they most often seem to ask is "What do you want me to print?"

The paper consistently put the 1963 Civil Rights marches downtown on the inside filler pages because they didn't want to reward those "outsider troublemakers" with publicity. Will we perhaps see the demise of UAB football get the same treatment (especially if it should happen on one of the four days they don't publish)?
