If you're talking about MissKitty on the SEC Fanatics board...join the club.

That board was going to merge with us, but then at the last second said no. Then, as we started, I joined over there, posted, and added that we had folks over here, and invited them over...not trying to steal 'em, but even saying in the post that I'd have our guys join over there too, helping out both boards. MissKitty went nuts, accused me of spamming, went after our admins yelling at me, and posted 12 times (once on every board) urging people to go to fanatics and don't even come close to touching our board. GTS saw it the way I did, and we both told MissKitty where to put it. What's ironic is that every time we did something new, within 48 hrs, Fanatics had found out and copied us. Won't be a shock when I see a Fanatics BOTD thread.

Anyways, MissKitty is a classic b-i-t-c-h, and you can tell EVERYONE on that board...that if they hate MissKitty and are fed up, come over here. We can't stand her, and there is NO way she'll ever set foot here.

Welcome GFR to our boards.... post often...and check the BOTD thread...this is definitely a pro-male atmosphere here.

Man, you guys have some Post Nazis over there. They are apparently scared to death of this board...hence when you IM someone over there with this URL, it says "http://www.thatgayboard.com."

I can see MANY people getting tired of that BS. Why in the hell are threads locked so damn much just because a Mod or Admin disagrees with what is posted? There IS no freedom of speech on there. We NEVER do that. I mean damn guys:

Quote:"This is your final warning, anyone who continues to turn every thread no matter what the topic into a religous arguement will be banned from the "Tank". This means the person who baits the discussion as well as anyone who replies to the bait.

This could be a really good forum if it weren't for a few, acting like jerks. It's going to stop, and it's going to stop NOW. Whether you agree or disagree, it doesn't matter, state your opinon, but do it in a respectful non-baiting manner."

Posts OFTEN go off track. Hell, conversations do the same thing. It's perfectly normal. Either A) people respond and keep changing it, or B) people just don't respond anymore. What the hell is wrong with just letting the posters post what THEY want to post so long as it doesn't cross the line?

man I honestly did not know that about sending a link in a PM to this board would spell that out. I sent myself a pm and sure enough. I am trying to find out where that is located to change that, that is Bullsh!t. I will confess that I have at times locked up a thread but never one in the think tank, hell over there I gave my opinion a few times then hauled butt out of there. 03-lol I locked threads in the football board though but have not locked one up in a few weeks, I am pretty much not going to lock anymore, hell if folks want to go after each other, I am at the point of not really giving a sh!t anymore to be honest with ya. I agree with you Kev, I opened my eyes and have pretty much just let threads run their course, off-topic or not. I really only try to get topics back on track when it comes down to 15 damn pages of the same Alabama-Auburn fans going at each other. :D The only problem I see about crossing the line, Kev, is just what is that line. If someone calls me ignorant for posting something, well ignorant, then I am the one who should either, a. repost the correct info, b. ignore the poster, or c. flame his butt via PM, see that whole PM thing again has me irked, you know with the P in that meaning private, and that is what I contend it should be. I am a big boy, I can take care of myself in a PM and if someone comes back with crap then I will just go back with more or ignore it, not tell the admins. We have gotten so involved in making sure folks don't call someone an idiot and whatnot, hey if you post idiotic crap then it ain't a lie or defamation, you are an idiot, am I correct? That is the line that, to me, is a very thin line which I don't wholeheartedly agree with.

From what I've seen, on this board as well as over there, is that when it becomes a flame war, there are usually 2 participants. The level-headed get the hell out and the remaining 2 will go at it a while and either A) come to an understanding, or B) get too pissed to post anymore in the thread and let the thread die.

There are reasons to lock a thread and delete posts/words. When it is blatantly bashing someone using profanity, etc. it is crossing the line. I have different views than the other admins and can't speak for them but I have called people idiots(and regretted it) and been called an idiot as a poster and an admin. I usually overlook it but then again, I've been pretty political for the past several years and have developed a thick skin. I know I can't expect everyone to feel the same way as I do and most cases are usually handled case by case and not blanketed. There are exceptions. When a poster is intentionally trying to flame to the point to which it intimidates others into not posting or remaining in "lurker status", that crosses the line greatly. Everything I am against, I will admit, I am probably guilty of but since becoming an admin, I have tried to remain impartial. Basically, dialogue is just that, dialogue. There is no set standard of how we address each other's comments other than the usual board etiquette. Topics go astray usually just as conversations do. I have seen a certain poster over there that I disagree with immensely on politics, but respect him greatly for his convictions. He has a strong affinity towards his religion and usually brings religion into the picture. I see nothing wrong with it as I, myself, can and have turned many topics into a political discussion. That certain person is just expressing his opinion. That is what a forum such as that is for. Also, as a conservative, it is hard for us to talk about politics without bringing up WJC. Especially since he keeps bringing himself into the picture. It's not so much an obsession as it is how intertwined he is with the DNC.

Well, that's my .02 .....or :spam: whatever you wanna call it.

Hmmm...so are you guys telling me you don't like kitty? :D

Seriously, I could not agree more. There are things done there that I don't agree with, for sure. But that has happened at every place I've posted at, even here. I just keep to my own sometimes, as my opinion alot of times goes nowhere but into a flame war.

Msu, you are seeing the light. You're an admin, though, and you have more control than us lowly ol mods there. LOL

I still enjoy it there, though. I think I like the controversy and pissing people off sometimes. 03-cool

Anyway, gotta say congrats again to gil on getting hitched.

So what is the difference between that and having an admin edit a post with a link to secf and replace it with I am a spamming queer (or something like that)?

I had that happen here before.

PS-I understand why it was deleted, etc, and that I shouldn't have done that, but a simple pm does the trick.

Well duh. Even their original maker and owner of the site wanted to merge with NCAAbbs. Now they're charging into the future under the helm of MsKitty and someone who isn't very pro at programming and design. Brave new world, eh?

I think it's both childish. However, who started it? Well, actually it doesn't matter who started it but I do believe it was probably SECFANs as I have been a member of both and certain people there, not you OTD or anyone else I get along with, are all about themselves.
