It is televised. All their home games are televised. WCCB in Charlotte. That is the reason for all of the noon games. That's what WCCB gave them.
Well, we don't have lights yet. That's the real reason for a noon start. Any later and it might get dark if the game goes into OT.

We won't have lights until next season.

You may have been told that, but we didn't have lights for many, many years and regularly had 3:00 and 3:30 games early in the season. Sure, its too late in the season for that start time now, but all of your Sept. games could have easily been a couple hours later with no worry of darkness even if they went into OT. Money is the root of all evil and I say all of the 12:00 start times are dictated by WCCB and that's what they were willing to give you. IMHO

lol, how much do you think WCCB is giving us?

They're not even really GIVING us the money. IMG sells ads for WCCB for the games and we get to keep 70% of that. We're doing most of the groundwork, we're just using their station and cameras.

The 30% they get to keep must be better than what they can get themselves running infomercials all day on Saturday.

If you're going to play games during the day in September, might as well have them at noon. It is even hotter at 3PM than it is at noon.

When did Bridgeforth get lights? I was under the impression that it has had lights since at least the addition of the Lakeside stands in 1981.

I know we had temp lights at some point... and I think for a televised playoff games, ESPN required the additional lumens, so we had to use temps alongside the permanent ones. Not sure when we got the permanent ones though. 81 sounds about right.

RE: Video options at Charlotte
I think it makes a lot of sense for Charlotte to have noon games. They're a new program and most of the big SEC games and stuff come on at 3:30 so in attempting to build a fan base in that Charlotte market, it's better for them to be on TV when there are fewer options. I know a lot of B1G and ACC games start at noon but they're usually not the greatest matchups so if you're flipping around, you're more likely to say "Let me check out Charlotte" in the noon time slot.

BFS had lights that were only good enough to play some intramural games and for the band to practice on the field. They were never good enough to play a actual game. In 2008 when we played Appy at night we had to bring in portable lights and again for the playoff games that same year.

No there have been night (6/7pm) games for a long time. The lighting has been augmented for TV purposes but plenty of games have been played without that.

You are right, I was confused when I remembered those portable lights being brought in. What is the furthest back anyone remembers a night game. They had none back when I was there but that was a very long time ago.

I did find back in 99 we play at least one night game against Liberty.

For the love of God, guys. Just pay the freaking 10 bucks or whatever it is. These sites are not only unreliable, they put all types of spyware and malware on your computer. Stay away from that crap. I you don't have 10 dollars to watch our team play, I really don't know what to say to you. It seems like people spend more time looking for a free feed than they'd get paid as per the minimum wage. Blows my mind.

We're gonna need another room for you next to Purplehazed.

I watch many other games on firstrow beyond JMU. Many times I'll be sitting in an airport and use it. I've used it when visiting parents who have no TV in the room I stay in. I have no issues. But, I've used it enough, that I am very aware of what to do and what not to do.

In addition, it would be a different story if I were to be putting money in JMU's pockets, but I have no incentive to support UNCC or any other team. I've also had many games where I paid for the school's feed and it be as bad as Madizone this year and be totally ticked that I wasted the money.

I'll be at the game tomorrow so this game matters not to me how you or anyone else view's it, but if I can help someone out why do you care? Have you watched Madizone this year for a live event? Many have, whether you have or not I don't know, but we've had some really pissed off viewers. Can you imagine what they would be saying had they paid for its use?

Just chill...

Are you a cyber security expert? I am. You don't have a clue what you're doing except exposing your computer to countless vulnerabilities in lieu of $9.95. SMH....

So what you are saying is that you tried it yourself. When was this time you tried it? Let me guess, when you were wanting to watch a JMU game.
