We play the dawgs in 2015, not this year.
We were on their schedule for 2016, but they moved it up when the SEC was considering going to an extra SEC game starting in 2016. Something they have decided now - not to do.
We were playing them every 4 years. It will be interesting to see if they use this interruption in rotation to do away with playing us all together since we are now an in state SBC FBS program. If not, we should pop up on their schedule either in the old slot that would have been 2020 or if you go four years from 2015, 2019. We shall see.
I know Kentucky played WKU. But from what I gather - the SEC doesn't like to schedule in state SBC... Is that about right?

I think it had to do more with us being an FBS team. Only one FCS win a year counts towards bowl eligibility so now they can play us anytime and it filled out there 2015 schedule, that already had an FCS game on it. They already have Nicholls replacing us in 2016. This is why the GT got moved up as well I believe.

Yeah I meant 2015, was just a mistype.
They may play Georgia Southern again, they are pretty arrogant normally you know.

Maybe. But it would have still counted towards a bowl either way. And at the time, the SEC was strongly considering adding another SEC game to all of their schedules.
I'm sure they weren't fearing us and an extra FBS team. And there were other games that they could have moved if getting out of the four year rotation wasn't part of their agenda. Not saying it WAS part of it, but funny that our game was the one that got moved. Of course, I think that meant they had to pay us at an FBS rate instead of the agreed FCS rate they were giving us.

Believe App State signed a few weeks ago to play Georgia in 2017 for a million.
Thought it interesting Louisiana is getting $1.2 million.
How much is Georgia Southern being paid?

Has nothing to do with fearing anything, it just made the 2015 schedule complete and gives them an extra year to fill out 2016. Win win for everybody. We were the only team on the schedule to change classifications after the game was already set, so no reason for any other game to move. Us moving may change the dynamics of how we get scheduled as their will probably be more conflicts with our schedule since we are under the same FBS guidelines as them now. Also, both teams had to agree with the move.

All we need now is a 4 million dollar buyout clause for coach Hudspeth, and UL would be golden!

So basically App State then took Georgia Southern's 2016 game position after you both changed.
Surprised they are paying GaSo a little less, may be because of being an instate game. Our travel
will be easy also, a little over four hours by bus. About a little over an hour longer trip.

It was probably part of the original contract that we had from the FCS days. I imagine we had an FBS clause in there and it wasn't quite to today's prices. We might also be getting a cut of ticket sales through our ticket office since we typically sell around 10k to this game, or at least that's about the average I think.

So in 2015 the Cajuns have Kentucky, 2016 Boise at home and Georgia on the road, and 2017 at Texas A&M.

In 2015, the Cajuns have @Kentucky, @Louisiana Tech and Akron at home. Working on an FCS right now.

Play a ranked one. Give McNeese a beating.

The chance of losing to both LaTech and McNeese in the same year is not appealing to me.
