3) I LOVE Zappone!!!!!! However, I do want to point out that he's been ejected from the last two games and then had the replay turn the call over. Not sure if that means anything at all, but I definitely noticed it.
That hit was textbook, 100% clean, led with shoulder and just destroyed the other guy. Sheer force doesn't make a player dirty, just blind refs, thank god for the call down to the field to correct the bad call.

Right, I guess what I was saying about Zappone is that with the way the game is changing guys who can really hit are going to be under much more of a close watch.

BTW, how about the Great Ibe or maybe I should say our LB, Great Ibe.
He is accumulating the tackles this year very impressively (not so much last year).

It was nice to get Wylie and Creel back to play. Based on previous games I don't think anyone outside maybe the staff saw this game from Bell. Now we know the upside and the potential. Lets see some consistency and remember Bell is definitely a high reward high risk QB. The interesting thing is that the OL doesn't seem to have to hold the blocks as long for Bell before he hits the hole, he may be better at reading the holes than any of our RBs.

What I'm afraid is that EMU fans will expect too much of Bell going forward.
Clearly UB did not know what hit them. They (and us!) didn't see it coming.
Rarely do teams adjust during the 2nd half to something sprung on them. Like a new defensive scheme isn't cooked up during a time out or media break.
UMass will be scheming against Bell. So that means that CC needs to scheme against the UMass scheming against Bell. Kind of like a chess match.
I like to use the example of the 2014 WMU offense. They pound it with Franklin until they have the defense where they want them (8 in the box) which opens up the passing game which then negates the 8 in the box which opens up the run game.
CC needs to figure how to fake or do something from the zone read option so that everything thing doesn't look like Bell is reading and will go inside or outside the WR. As someone mentioned, opponents probably want to go 3 - 4 against a Bell offense. The extra LB keys on Bell.
CC needs to figure how to throw off that zone read as the DBs come up to get Bell (assuming a run) leaving gaps in the secondary on the side where Bell is rolling.

I hope CC gives Bolden the choice of switching to WR. He like Gillett, could possibly earn a few NFL paychecks at WR--he has no shot obviously at QB. That would give him a nice start after college--if he wants that opportunity, that is. He's a top athlete and QB'S know every position, so he would probably do quire well immediately.

It is interesting that you bring up WMU, they have a whole thread dedicated to our upcoming game with them.

That's funny that EMU and WMU football are relevant again...
Folks are posting on a game which won't be played in over one month.

I'm 99% sure that UMass has their board but it isn't on this website (e.g., UB has their own also).
I'll try to find it.

RE: Game Day: UBuffalo
Richly deserved guys (MAC Tweet):
"MAC West Players of the Week: CMU RB Thomas Rawls & EMU QB Reggie Bell (co-off); EMU LB Anthony Zappone (def); Toledo K Jeremiah Detmer (sp)"
Might be a rarity. MAC West players of the week on off and def. Miracles are happening... :)
