Radio coverage of football games
Are there any northern VA or DC radio stations that broadcast the JMU football games?

RE: Radio coverage of football games
It is my understanding that no radio stations will be carrying JMU football games. They have gone fully digital on the web.

That doesn't help much when you are driving. Oh well, such is "progress" I guess.

Download the free tunein radio app if you have a smart phone. Search on location. Harrisonburg and specifically WSVA 550 are available.

Yeah TuneIn works, also, you could try Madizone over the web if you have an iPhone.

No, I have an android phone. I tried TuneIn out last night and it seems to work but it took a long time to start.

If you use the audio from Madizone (which is the same broadcast as you will receive from TuneIn)rather than the live video stream, it should not take so long to load as you will be driving anyway.

By the way, for the first time this year, Madizone worked almost flawlessly for me to watch the Luncheon this week. I was not able to catch it live, but rather had to use OnDemand streaming. I am anxiously waiting to see what it does when I watch something live. I'll be at the game, so watching Live via Madizone, will have to wait. If people will give it a try and post their findings, it will be appreciated.

Most of you know, I've been a major critic of Madizone since the season began and have had a lot of e-mails going back and forth with Stretch Internet. They claim to not have done anything recently to make it viewable, but I'm finding that difficult to believe. They still want to believe that it was something on my end, but they cannot seem to realize that I can/could watch any other stream outside of Madizone with no problems.

As long as its now working, is what's really important. I've got my hopes up, so please give feedback as they are waiting to hear back from me after this weekend, especially if you are using something other than an Apple product.

RE: Radio coverage of football games
It all comes back to the Administration and Jeff Bourne.

They're just lazy, good for nothing, and they make me mad personally. I don't know about you guys. But seriously, Jeff Bourne!?!?! What a dick.

I once saw Jeff Bourne steal an old lady's groceries. And then he lifted his left leg up and farted on her as he ran away. Do we really want someone like that running our program? More like running our program into the ground, right?

JEFF BOURNE AHHHH I HATE YOU.

RE: Radio coverage of football games
Has anyone else had diffulty with Madizone Audio (in particular) on a smart phone? I have found TuneIn broadcasts of WSVA to be far superior.

Video on my tablet was not as good as last year either - but not as big a dropoff as audio.

RE: Radio coverage of football games
iPhone 5s user, iOS 8.0.2.

Stretch's Live Events platform has never worked on my device's Safari browser. CAATV, Madizone, doesn't matter. No listening/watching on my device since it was rolled out.

Additionally, this past Saturday, I attempted to use TuneIn to access WSVA's stream - it sounded like the stream went silent for the game (there was obviously data streaming, but it was a silent stream). I accessed it at kickoff. Don't know this for a fact, but it could be WSVA finally protecting JMU's right to exclusively stream radio broadcasts of football games. Other schools/pro teams have this agreement with their radio network.

TuneIn/WSVA also still had the issue of long-running PSAs and filler music on the live stream at breaks (as of the UD game), so the game is largely unlistenable through that outlet anyway, even though it sounds the best and is accessible on an iOS device.

I resorted to SportsCenter's live stats of the game to follow against Albany, watching highlights on WHSV online that night.

Yup, missing huge chunks of the game while endless streams of ads and other nonsense is aired. Falls under the heading of, "If you can't do it right...just don't do it at all". Unlistenable if the perfect word. And even though Schick annoys me due to incorrect descriptions, I still want to listen to our broadcast.

Have any of you tried to go on Madizone to watch or listen to anything since Monday? That was the first day I was able to get a nice clear picture. I've not attempted audio all year, so I have no feedback on that.
