Penn State doesn't play Michigan next year 03-wink and even if they did, Michigan would dominate them.

My fault, you are right. But if they did play, Penn State would have a great shot at winning.

I'm going to be at that game, and I'd be shocked if Minnesota won for a few reasons:

1) Michigan hasn't lost at home since 2002 Iowa and was particularly dominant at home last year (35-21 over OSU, 38-0 over Notre Dame, 31-3 over Purdue, and 4 blowouts against Illinois, Indiana, Central Michigan, and Houston).

2) 02 Iowa was the only homecoming game Michigan has lost in 30-some years.

3) The new 3-4 defense is supposedly stronger against the run. This puts Woodley at an OLB position. Shazor will probably also be more keyed towards the run if the MINN passing game hasn't proven itself. Marlin Jackson is back at CB, so Ellerson will have trouble being open all day. MINN WRs are underated, but losing Hosack and Utecht will hurt even w/ that one former JuCo guy coming back from injury.

4) If Gutz plays like he's able to then he'll have a big game. We'll probably run A LOT of screen plays again (remember the damage CP did last year) with the occasionally long-bomb to Edwards or Avant. Those two plays KILLED your defense in the second half last year.

My prediction right now is 42-21..... Maroney and Barber will still rack up about 200 yards (def not 404, again), but only if Cupito can be reasonably effective, too, b/c otherwise Michigan will just load the box.

We'll see, though....

The Biggest Upset will be Cincy over Overated St, Zwick is inexperienced at Starting QB, and Ross will have a bad game. The BearCats will win because UC is better then people think, Gino will be amazing and the WR's will catch balls. I see the Cats winning on a late FG in the 4th Qtr. The final score will be Cincy 24-OSU 21

Marshall fans..geez. Never learn.

Miami over Michigan though...now there's an upset waiting to happen. I'm sure the Michigan team is not over looking my Redhawks, though its fans don't seem to know much about them. S'all good. Michigan will have to wait til late in the 4th to pull this one out, if they win at all.

People here sure are confident about their chances of upsetting Ohio State.... Kind of reminds of last year. Oh, and the year before that too! When will people learn that Defense and Special teams win football games, not those flashy, high-flying, turnover happy, spread offenses. Looks like another season to prove the doubters wrong.

Btw, there is no way we lose to Northwestern. Not to put down to Wildcats, but every year we overpower them and wear them down. They didn't get to play us the years they won a share of the Big 10 title(most Buckeye fans feel the only reason they won the conference was because they didn't have to face our Bucks). NW will be much better this season, but they haven't beat us since 1971 and that lsing streak isnt going to end this year.

Michigan has NEVER lost to a MAC team.

Last year, essentially the same Miami OH team (plus Ben Roethlisberger) got humiliated by a good Iowa team in the season opener, and that was their only loss of the year.

What makes you think that 9/4 will be any different than that Iowa game????

You are right about Dfense and Special teams, but the problem for worthless nut state is that the D is average and the special teams are not special in 2004. Saint tressel and co. wont be able to pull out all the close ones this season. The worthless nuts will have 3 Ls heading into "the game" :chair:

I hope Miami kicks their weasel butts!!! That being said, I'm not gonna bet the house(or anything for that matter) on it happening.

Go Bucks!

We still have Nugent, the best kicker in college football. And sure, our punting game will go down, but it will still be one of the best.

No way the Buckeyes have three losses going into "the game".
