Oct. 21 @Louisiana
Nov. 8 vs. USA
Nov. 20 @ TxSt

Those are the three games which concern me most, as an stAte fan.

We could win all of them, or lose all of them.

I feel most confident about the home game.

Don't think you'll lose them all, but you should be ready for that home game. If Bridge is on his game, you will have plenty to be concerned about. South Alabama plays their best in road games.

Because we are very flawed?

We've turned the ball over 7 times the last two games. All but two were the direct fault of the QB according to Walt Bell himself.

There are serious questions about whether we can complete a pass longer than 10 yards.

Our Kicker is struggling so much we were trying out walk-on's in practice this week. Haven't made a FG since the Montana State game. Our crowd literally holds its breath on Extra Point attempts at home football games.

Our Offensive Line played well last week, but is mostly Freshman and Sophomores and have been inconsistent this season.

Over 30 percent of the points we've allowed this year have come via the deep pass.

We're 105th in the nation in penalties, with 13 committed this past weekend. We play somewhere around 11-15 True Freshman. Many of them are regulars on Special Teams.

Now on the same note, this team has also:

Allowed only two possessions in the Red Zone since the 4th quarter of the Miami game. (0 points)

Allowed Utah State to cross our 30 yard line twice total.

Allowed ULM to cross our 30 yard line Once total.

Our offense put up 580 plus yards on what was supposed to be one of the best defenses in the conference last weekend.

Our QB runs a legit 4.4 40, and can juke a DB out of his shoes in the open field.

Managed to pull off the SBC's best OOC Win to date and do it without Michael Gordon.

We're Jekyl and Hyde right now. A fan of this team has pretty much two options, take a very overly optimistic approach and point out that despite all our struggles, we're actually ahead of where most experts thought we would be right now, that the SBC is having a down year in general, that our defense has been unstoppable against on level opponents, and that we'll be favored likely in ever game left this year.

A Cautiously optimistic fan will point out all of our weaknesses and wonder, as Blake Anderson has mentioned more than once, how long we can keep this up without it coming back to bite us, especially as we face three very good offensive teams on the road in Georgia State, ULL, and Idaho the next 3 weeks.

Whether we are playing football in December or January this year is going to come down to the next few weeks.

Because our own fans point out these flaws every day. I love ASU and hope we win every game we play by 100, but I am a realist, and I will always point out the flaws we have.

I'll do the same thing in basketball season, but will probably be far harder on the coaching staff than I am in football. I'll still be at every game and hope we win, but I will always talk about the issues we do have partially because I am watching to see what gets corrected

Its how I operate. Everyone is different. If you'd like, I could post the strength's and flaws in every other SBC Team as well

We've always had a rep as an analytical and realistic fan base.

I think our Jeckyl and Hyde performance is creating a jeckyl and hyde fan base reaction.

Brandon Bridge has shaken the cobwebs and he's looking like the quarterback that won the accolades at the Manning quarterback camp in 2013.

Exactly.

It's a consistent pattern of focusing on flaws, belittling accomplishments, apologizing for success and offering up of low expectations. He often attempts to frame his opinion as the official position of all Red Wolf nation, and attempts to paint those stAte fans who disagree with his opinion as loons. Here is one recent example from The Den...

"Admittedly, anyone who is overlooking these guys after last year is out of their mind." headscalper aka chiefsfan

I don't dislike the dude, and agree with him often, but I'm no longer going to allow the poor-mouthing to continue unchallenged.

I've grown weary of it.

Ummm, that was in reference to Georgia State....he's right.

They almost beat the Cajuns at home this year....something we've done once in forever. They almost beat us at home last year....something difficult to do. They have a dangerous passing game.

It is not unreasonable to caution against overlooking them.

Umm...I was referring to the fact that we are out of our minds if we overlook Georgia State because they are pretty good and they nearly beat us last year.

But if you want to twist my posts and make them say what you want, be my guest.

He should have said, "in my opinion, anyone who is overlooking these guys after last year is out of their mind." After all, it is simply, and nothing more than, his opinion.

However, he used the word "admittedly," as if it were a statement of fact, concurring with his own opinion, and casting any who disagreed with his opinion as "out of their mind."

Admittedly, anybody who disagrees with my interpretation of this is out of their mind. See how that works?

Trust me... I'm far from the only stAte fan to recognize his poor-mouthing of stAte on message boards. I would hope that he takes what I'm saying into consideration, because it's not going to continue unchallenged.

It seems pretty simple to me. Where there did I speak for the entire fan base.

Good, I was never making a brash statement there representing the entire fan base. I just used different word choice than some would.

Now, I'll be controversial and will complain about ASU at times because its who I am, but I don't generally mean near the harm by it that some think. I just expect perfection.

Admittedly, I had a misconception of the definition of admittedly until this incident, and it doesn't seem to mean quite what I thought it did.

admittedly
adverb
to tell the truth
as has been or must be admitted
it must be admitted
