They don't have Terrance West anymore!

Sadly, they're probably licking their chops for a chance to face our defense.

BDK, all of these stats are a week stale. Both TU and JMU have played 6 games.

They looked awful last week. And a season after a huge year, NOBODY in the stands.

Their administration just came down on the students for an incident at a tailgate and pretty much put a damper on the students ability to tailgate. You think our administration is out of touch we have nothing on theirs.

RE: Previewing the Towson game
Obviously both teams have played different OOC, and haven't played the same CAA opponents, so you have to take the stats with a little bit of a grain of salt. A better barometer will be after Nov 1 when everyone has played 4-5 CAA games and you can use stats from CAA games only.

From last years tea TU lost on offense:
-All World Terrance West
-their starting QB Peter Athens
-4 OL (3 whom were all CAA, 2 1st teamers whom I believe were AA)
-3rd team All CAA WR
-starting TE

Their starting QB, Conner Frazier, avg 13 of 24 per game (54%) for 115 yds. 3 TDS, 3 INT. More of a running QB, carries 12.5 times a game for 49 yds.
http://www.towsontigers.com/roster.aspx?...h=football

They have the 2nd leading rusher in the CAA (leading rusher is Osborne from Albany), Darius Victor, who is avg 20 carries a game for 108 yds, 5.4 ypg. (as a true Fr behind West and that OL last season rushed for 630, 6.4 ypg).
http://www.towsontigers.com/roster.aspx?...h=football
And they have a big 255 lb FB who was pre season all CAA.
http://www.towsontigers.com/roster.aspx?...h=football

The leading receiving is Spencer Wilkins, 19 receptions, 227 yds & 1 TD. No one else is even close.
http://www.towsontigers.com/roster.aspx?...h=football

From what the stats do show, TU has a decent running game and weak passing game, dead last in the CAA.
They are going to try to pound the football, especially after seeing a charmin soft JMU run defense on film from earlier games. The solution on defense is obvious. STACK THE BOX! Make them beat you with the pass. Frazier is a running QB, but he's no John Roberts with his feet or his arm.

Good catch, thanks. Darn it, I shouldn't have assumed they would be current through this past Sat. The "Team Statistics" pages are current, but not the "Statistics Leaders". Come on CAA- its been 2 days. Update your damn website!

I'll just edit when they are updated later today or tomorrow..

RE: Previewing the Towson game
Wow. They lost basically their entire offense. Stack the box and keep Marlowe way back to prevent the quick strike TD. Let Moreland stay tight and take chances with their inexperienced, running QB. If we can prevent them from breaking off big runs and put pressure on their QB I think it could lead to him throwing some up, giving us a chance for some TO's.

We're among some great company with these defensive stats.

Yep. Pretty pathetic. Interesting to note:
#1 Scoring defense: SBU
#1 Total defense: SBU
#1 Rush defense: SBU
#1 Pass defense: SBU
Course they haven't play any powerhouse offenses yet: Total offenses #9 W&M & #12 Maine, Bryant, a Div II and UCONN, #123 of 124 in Total Offense for I-A.

W&M hasn't so far had the dominate d they were hyped up to have pre season. In all fairness, they have had a lot of injuries from what I've read..

He must have gotten hurt earlier in the season. He DNP vs Maine or SBU, and isn't showing on their 2 deep. During their Maine game the commentators were talking about how they had played 4-5 different guys at FB due to all their injuries at that position. One of the guys that played at FB against Maine & SBU had just been moved over from LB a few weeks prior. The 2 they have showing on their 2 deep are listed as rFr and So & both at 220 lbs. Anyway, good news for trying to stop, or at least slow down, their run. That 255 lb FB was a beast last yr blocking for West.
