UNH beat a bad Lehigh program 45-27, had a nice win by 3 over Richmond, and spanked two putrid teams in Elon and Dartmouth. They score a lot of points but we shut them out last season.

UNH is #7 in the FCS is pass offense with 304 ypg and have only allowed 7 sacks. We've sacked QBs 16 times, good for 13th in the FCS. We're #4 in turnover margin while UNH is ranked #36. We have a top 50 rush defense. It's no secret, W&M needs to find a way to pressure their QB and minimize long gains through the air. I think we can run on the Cats and eat the clock up but we have to continue to protect the ball. We also hold an advantage in our kicking game so that may come into play.

A win here is huge and would set us up nicely to upset Nova for Homecoming. GO TRIBE!

FWIW the win over Lehigh was much more of a blowout than the final indicates. I think it was 42-7 before garbage time

And just like that we're up to #10 in the TSN poll after a couple folks ahead of us lost over the weekend.

I'm wondering how schools like unh ever get within smelling distance of the tribe athletically?

Could you elaborate? I think that UNH holds some advantages over W&M with regards to athletics

UNH has recruited kids out of our own backyard. Very few FCS programs can sniff UNH's football resume over the past decade, including us.

Agree. They always seem to make the playoffs, very high in APR results, and really do not have the fine facilities other do.

If you're in the Northeast and want to stay local they're a pretty good option. Not a very saturated market in terms of football teams

Airek Green listed on the 2-deep, but Ian Haislip still listed as the starter. Haislip has done a great job, and hopefully both he and Green will be able to make plays this weekend.

A serious question, do y'all view the 2 deep as informative or not? I know a lot can change between Tuesday and Saturday, but my casual use of this tool makes me question how thoroughly it is updated.

I definitely take it with a grain of salt, but for instance Airek Green was not included on the last two and was included on this one. That tells me there's at least a chance he is ready to go. Obviously a lot can change, but there is wisdom to be gleaned from the two deep. They definitely do update it from week to week though.

Thanks! I certainly hope all of our injured guys recover fully. It would be nice if they could play the next two weeks when we face our most challenging foes, but more importantly that their injuries are not permanent.

UNH fans seem very confident...some predict a blowout. How quickly they forget a 17-0 loss last season.

RE: Tribe @ New Hampshire.
The win last year was great, but UNH moved the ball. We made big plays at the right time, and forced some things. Among other CAA fans (I have spoken to UR & JMU fans) our defense this year does not cause the fear it did last year. Hopefully this week the defense can make a statement, especially stopping the run. If their QB is not hassled, we will get picked apart. We need pressure from the front.

I think the offense could make a statement this week as well. RB's looking good, and we have the WR's back in action. I am looking to see the offense carry the load this week, something we did not see last year.

UNH has looked good, but aside from the really good win at Richmond, have played cupcakes.

It would be great to get to the QB without having to bring pressure.

RE: Tribe @ New Hampshire.
Tribe beat them in every statistical category last year and every impact player with the exception of Ryan Smith is back. Luke Rhodes, Sinnott, Reilly, Houston-Carson, and Coleman are perfectly capable of repeating their performances. Caprio picked the Cats defense a part so imagine what Cluley can do.

I don't think we'll shut them out but I think we'll win by two scores unless we turn the ball over a bunch.

I'm willing to bet cash money the refs will flag us for every little thing. They did at Zable last year so you know UNH will enjoy some home cooking for their HC game.

This is not the same defense as last year. Don't forget Couplin & Beerhalter. Lots of guys banged up this year, hopefully the off week let some guys recover. Now that we are into the CAA run hopefully the defense can show the intensity of last year.

It looks like UNH's RB (Steriti) may be injured. And it looks like they'll only be playing one of their two QBs (Vailas)

Have to stop their option. Their QBs are averaging 74 yards per game rushing, and have scored 6 TDs on the ground. The rushing number is minus 53 yards of sacks so their positive yardage is around 85 a game. A lot of their passing game works off of that. Same as always... stop the run first.
