RE: UMass
ACC was smart in taking Louisville over UCONN. Louisville has one of the most efficient and well managed Athletic Depts in the country, and that was when they were only getting around 4 mill from their Big East media deal, now they are getting over 22 mill from the ACC.

I wonder how ODU fans felt sitting there watching that drubbing by Marshall on Saturday, which was a follow-up to the drubbing the week before by Middle Tennessee on national television. Moving up is a good idea, if the long range plan includes a potential move to one of the Power 5 conferences (fat chance), if not, then all you have done is pile on a ton of debt to your Athletic Department with a chance to play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in beautiful downtown Tupelo on the Tuesday after Christmas at 11am (or something similar).

I liken these lower FBS conferences as the Paris Hiltons of college football...looks good on first sight, you get all fired up because you feel special surrounded by flashing lights and glamour, you soon find there's no real substance there, and the "relationship" drains your wallet before you know it.

I wonder if they are happy about their coverage in the Daily Press......

I am sure ODU fans are happy now, they have been complaining mightly about the previous lack of coverage/worship by the DP.

RE: UMass
GA State had just over 5k for their HC game and carry, by far, the lowest attendence in the SBC. They can't buy a win but the good news is they'll welcome GA Southern as they come off a bye week. 30,000 will attend that game so that should help the panthers.

ODU will be fine but GA State clearly bit off more than they can chew.
