This ref in the ODU game is the most unenthusiastic ref I've ever seen. He sounds more and more sad with each call he makes.

No argument at all there. St. Francis, CCSU, and Elon just get fans blood boiling.

RE: Like Watching ODU lose on Fox Sports
It seems like every single game I watch, the announcers make the same mistake about the clock stopping when a player goes out of bounds. Don't the rules say that if a player goes out of bounds at the end of the play, the clock stops until the ball is spotted, and then it starts again, unless it's the last 4 minutes of each half? It used to stop every time a player went out of bounds but they changed it recently because games were taking so long. It annoys me that announcers get on players for stepping out of bounds when it barely stops the clock at all now.

You are close, its the last 2 minutes of each half. Also, when they restart the clock the play clock will start at 25 sec.

I totally agree with you, very few announcers seem to know the rule.

RE: Like Watching ODU lose on Fox Sports
Just got back from the game. DVR'd it so didn't see what it looked like on TV. The atmosphere leading up to the game and the atmosphere at the start of the game was electric. I think Bridgeforth would blow it away given the same scenario but Ballard Stadium was absolutely rocking in the beginning.

Then, to my delight, ODU got smacked around up and down the field. Crowd was taken out of the game. What was worse was their student section was almost empty by the end of the 3rd quarter. The stadium was half empty at the moment ODU was about to get back in the game.

Long story short, I can't stand ODU and I loved seeing them get beat tonight. However, the whole night I just looked around and couldnt help but think JMU could have already been at this point and so far ahead...but we refuse to see our potential. It was depressing. As excited as I am to head to the 'burg tomorrow for Delaware, it sucks knowing what could have been.

Ahh thank you. I knew I was close. It's just ridiculous that almost every single game I watch, an announcer brings it up at least once.

Look at how terrible ODU is now that they've gone FBS! They get their heads handed to them. They quit when getting slaughtered by 60 points! UNC 80 ODU 20. You guys want JMU to go FBS. If you do you'll get stomped, just like ODU! Stay FCS where you can add more D1 National Championships. Go FBS and your chance of winning a NC is the same as a snowball's chance of surviving in hell! Just saying.

Agree 100%. I am mad enough to eat nails over our incompetent admin allowing an upstart program with no history to blow by us like we are sitting still, which I guess is exactly what we are doing.

Completely agree with everything you both said except we are not standing still. We are moving backwards.

What's with the constant ODU hate on this board? Our administration has been lobbying for JMU to go FBS harder then your own.

Be careful. They will ban you for posting on our boards if you hurt anyone's feelings.
