Well, that pretty much stinks! Blame me for injecting the word major into the heading. Based on all the talk going on in the hallways in Boone this isn't the announcement I was and still am expecting to hear. Still, it beats Campbell or any other FCS team. Hopefully it is in Sept and we can work in another trip to Fenway.

Sorry guys...but P.U. that stinks...Could be a pretty crappy game in Amherst if it's late in the season...The other problem is, wont UMASS be independent by then??? So even a win doesn't give you any help vs. one conference or another...

A little disappointed that both Troy and App St are away games in 2016. Will see about making it down to Boone. Last 3 games for 2016 need to be home games. Thought we had a series with the Herd, perhaps that's a home game in 2016 and perhaps a second FCS buy game and then would need one.

No it doesn't actually. Why would we add them for home and homes when we could get them in the SBC anytime we want?

I think this is our peace offering. We wont offer a conference spot, but we'll offer them some home and home deals to help fill their schedule as an independent. A Scheduling agreement of sorts.

With this announcement, it gives App it's first schedule with ALL FBS opponents.

Hope that is true and we get two more Sun Belt teams with 2 being home games in 2016.

Well now we have two future Sun Belt members scheduled, those being Liberty and now UMass. We played UMass to win NC in '06, that's indeed a weak history being one game.

I think SBC rules prohibit away games at FCS schools so a game at jmu is very unlikely.I believe a game with FCS at a neutral site is allowed.We were told this while in the SBC-rule could have changed.

I know Marshall for the movie "We are Marshall" regarding the tragic plane crash, Randy Moss, Chad Pennington and Bryon Leftwich. Oh playing a lot of week night games on the ESPNs when they were still in the MAC.

I hear ya, wasn't Moss playing the last time they played each other? I've seen a couple of YouTube's here and there and the atmosphere seemed crazy around those games, like it will be tomorrow night.

Yeah, Moss was on the 1996 team that played you guys in Boone... But we did have some wild games though...But he was not on the team the last time we played you guys...

What people forget, though, is that Pennington was redshirted that year and Florida transfer Eric Kresser was the QB..

And...Moss only played one season with Pennington in 1997...He entered the draft after the Motor City Bowl...
