After losing to Abilene Christian this was just a terrible week to play Georgia, who had just lost to South Carolina.

When I saw this thread title, I kind of hoped it would be about the future happening, not the same old B.S. "We're not very good and this was a hell of an SEC team" quotes. I am near the end for patience and sanity.

Pretty sure every team in the Belt has had years like this..I think the coach gets at most one more year and he is gone if it continues. The VanGoober year was horrible at GS and as a fan I never wanted to lose but it is probably a good thing VanDouche did so horribly or he may have hung around longer. At this point going ofor maybe the best thing for Troy.

I know many of you wanted him gone last year and now its seems Troy is paying the price of not doing that. I look forward to seeing the Troy of old that I expected to see when TXST joined the conference.

We've all been there in one way or another. Troy is too proud of a program to stay down for long!

How bad will this conference look if Troy somehow, some way (there is talent there) pulls it together and goes on a Sun Belt roll? ;-)

Unfortunately, just like the enthusiasm of winning builds momentum,
the locker room pessimism of losing also becomes contagious.

I suspect Troy is better than their record, but now, in addition to playing better than their opponents, they've gotta overcome their own emotions.

This and if rumors start to fly about the coach its going to have an affect on recruiting. The stability that the coach has provided is great but when its time for a change it is hard to do and is usually a mess with a split fan base, see FSU and Penn St.

That is the one thing that I regret when Curry announced he would be stepping aside in August of 2012 is that they would be starting the search following the season. Miles was hired on December 1 and basically had 2 months to recruit our first FBS class. Not exactly set up for success.

Bigger problem was Registrar. He reportedly wanted as many as 15 JUCOs and couldnt get them in.

I have full confidence in our AD. And I know he will do the right thing at the seasons end.

Word/rumor is Blakeney announces his retirement sometime in October.
