William & Mary watched 2017 Cooper G Sean McNeil (@SeanMcNeil22) at practice today.

Also noted that they are set to be in attendance at G/F Phil Cirillo's game friday

"Coaches from William & Mary, Lehigh, NKU, EKU & Belmont will be at our game tomorrow night at Madison Southern! Go Jags!"

Not sure how much chance we'll have of wrestling Broughton from the likes of Vanderbilt, Clemson and bigger schools, but would be a major impact get for us if we did. Work some influence Omar and Jack.

It's still early for 2017s. You know how it goes. It's important as a mid major to build a connection with these kids even if the majors are talking to them. He's probably projected out as a 3 star borderline HM / MM+. Any of those schools can and may recruit over him leaving a less desirable situation or no spot at all. What worries me more is the recent Lehigh offer. They are strong recruiters & managed to steal away a number of recruits the coaches were high on.

What does Lehigh have that out sells W&M?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lehigh has an outstanding school of Engineering and its graduates are in great demand by business and industry. So a high school kid who has a strong aptitude for science and math could easily be sold on the advantages of attending Lehigh.

Also noted on Twitter - Coach Shaver (the younger, I assume) was at Sequoyah HS in GA to see 6'6 guard Jordan Usher.

It's very early, but it seems the coaches have focused much of their attention on Bradshaw, Godwin, Broughton, and Usher. All are 6'4+ combo guards

Tribe offered 6'5 Georgia SG Alex O'Connell this evening.

1st offer for 2017 that I'm aware of.

Have to think we have a shot at him. Their familiarity is a win for all involved.

He would be a good catch. Quick. Very smooth off the dribble.

RE: 2017 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Maybe I asked this before but shouldn't our top recruiting priority be a taller, athletic guard with the potential to be a strong defender?

Next year we lose Dixon and the idea of guarding other team's backcourt with a combination of Cohn, Tot and Burchfield is not very appealing.

RE: 2017 Men's Basketball Recruiting
As usual, we are recruiting a large number of guys that are 6'5ish combo guard/forwards. All are long and athletic and some are stronger defenders. I'm a fan of Pedro Bradshaw. He is in the mold if Tarpey (IMO a more natural scorer though) and an outstanding rebounder at 6'5. We will have to fight off many suitors, but it's my understanding that he is a recruiting priority.

With the size of his hands and feet and that wingspan, you wonder if he is going to hit a late growth spurt. Concern is whether he will ever have the foot quickness to cover quicker guards on the perimeter. Does not have Terry's hops. Intelligent ballplayer.
