Sun Belt vs. Mountain West this weekend....
Louisiana Lafayette vs. Boise State

New Mexico State vs. New Mexico

Utah State vs. Arkansas State

Mountain West conference schools have had the delusion they belong in the same league as the Big 12, Big 10s of the world. However, with Boise's mystic falling down the last couple of years they have had to eat some humble pie. Good luck to all Sun Belt teams this weekend vs. the overrated Mountain West Conference.

Critical set of games here. Pull these wins off, and have App beat Southern Miss, and last weekend will be completely forgotten. No one wants to be here if we lose all of these.

Arkansas State has the best chance I think. Isn't Chuckie Keaton out?

Louisiana Lafayette playing to its potential can beat Boise. But they (like USA) have yet to play to their potential.

New Mexico State can make a big statement with a win, but can they?

I think Appalachian State beats USM.

Yeah, Keeton is out, though they've got an experienced backup.

Bryan Harsin coaches Boise State...so the good news is its not like the Cajuns have some convoluted difficult offense to prepare for.

Looking at the two teams stats through the first three games, Aggies and Red Wolves seem virtually identical...

Arkansas State: Through first 3 games, Red Wolves have been averaging...
-27 points a game
-230 yards passing
-189 yards rushing
-7 Penalties for 61
-2 turnovers
-402 Total yards

Team Leading Passer, Rusher and Receptions)
(Fredi Knighten-62/103, 602 yards, 2 TDs-----49 Carries 163 yards, 2 TDs)
(JD Mckissic-16 receptions, 180 yards)

Utah State: Through first 3 games, Aggies have been averaging...
-28 points a game
-197 yards passing
-157 yards rushing
-9 penalties for 89
-3 turnovers a game
-347 Total yards

Team Leading Passer, Rusher and Receptions)
(Chuckie Keaton-51/92, 426, 2 TDS)
(J. Natson-11 carries for 125 yards, no TDS)
(H. Sharp-14 receptions for 175 yards, 1 TD)

With Keeton out, they've turned to their fallback guy Darrell Garretson. He split playing time with another QB in their game against Boise State and followed by that lost, started the remainder of the 2013 season. Here were his stats:
-Boise state (9-14, 116 yards, 1 TD, 2 picks) Results: L,
-New Mexico (15-23, 144, 1 TD) Results: W, 45-10
-Hawaii (28-41, 370 yards, 3 TDs, 1 pick) W, 47-10
-UNLV (17-29, 298 Yards, 1 TD) W, 28-24
-Colorado State (8-18, 43 Yards) w 13-0
-Wyoming (20-29, 156 yards, 3 TDs, 1 pick) W, 35-7
-Fresno st (12-26, 198 yards, 1 pick) L, 24-17
-NIU (17-29, 121 Yards, 1 TD, 2 Picks) W, 21-14

So far in the 2014 season, he's only played in the second half against Wake Forest after Chuckie was pulled. He finished that game...
-11/16, 116 yards, 1 TD, 1 PICK
